One of my favorite scenes from "Twilight" is when Edward takes Bella on a date to play thunderstorm baseball with the rest of the Cullen coven. When she asks why the family is so partial to the sport, Edward simply answers, "Well, it's the American past time." So it seems only fitting that the cast of "Twilight" will be taking to the diamond for a special Vampire Baseball "All-Star" game to celebrate Independence Day, and thanks to Ticketmaster, you can watch!
For $49 you can secure a seat at PGE Park in Portland, Ore. to watch Rachelle Lefevre, Peter Facinelli, Edi Gathegi, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and more swing for the fences (disclaimer: vampire super-strength and speed not included). For an extra $86, you can upgrade to the "Premium Full-Day Package," which includes the Vampire Baseball game, admission to that evening's Beavers vs. Sky Sox game, a voucher for an autograph and a voucher for dinner, dessert and a soft drink. Oh my!
Personally, I'm a little bummed Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed won't be suiting up. "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke has praised the two she-vamps for the baseball skills they learned during taping — Ashley mastered the artful pitch while Nikki learned how to hit left-handed. I'd love to see their skills put to the test in a real game, but I think the token goofy guys of "Twilight," like Michael Welch and Peter Facinelli, will put on one bloody good show. Plus, maybe after the game, you can road-trip it to Forks, Washington to catch a session of "Twilight" summer school.
Are there any cast members that you wish were planning to play (ahem, Rob)? If you live in the area, will you be buying a ticket to the game? And how many of you out there don't live in the area but still plan on going?
