The telepathic Sookie Stackhouse and typically mild-mannered vampire Bill Compton are lovers on "True Blood," but they sure do know how to put up a fight with one another. Apparently, that feistiness is just as intense offscreen.
Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, the real-life romantic couple that portray Sookie and Bill on the HBO series, have apparently taken to boxing as one of their favorite pastimes. While Stephen is a lifelong fan of the sport, Anna is relatively new to the game.
"When I was a boy, I loved boxing," he told Access DirecTV magazine. "And I've got Anna into it."
And as Stephen himself puts it, his girl is pretty tough in the ring.
"She won't stop until she's gnawed your stumps off," the actor said of his girlfriend's boxing skills. "I tell you, my girl is hardcore."
Even if Moyer's character gets to drink most of the blood in the relationship, fans know not to count Sookie out in a fight. Despite taking a harsh injury in the most recent episode, Sookie's been known to get pretty violent herself — and her offscreen persona is no different, especially when watching televised bouts with her beau at her side.
"I like the sport and she likes the blood," Stephen revealed. "I'm like, 'Stop the fight, people are getting hurt, I can't bear it!' and she's going, 'Go on, hit 'em!' She loves it."
