Though the blood has barely dried on the set of "Twilight" sequel "New Moon," talks are now turning toward the future of the saga once the final installment, "Breaking Dawn," debuts on the big screen. More specifically, producers may be eying a spin-off.
Radar caught up with "Twilight" producers Wyck Godfrey and Greg Mooradian at the 36th Annual Vision Awards, where the duo said there could be more bloodsucking action to come. "Stay tuned. I think if our movies do as well as the first did all possibilities are out there. But right now we need to finish what we have and finish Stephenie’s vision as best we can and then let’s see where the audience demands us to go from there.”
Lucky for "Twilight" producers there are a bevy of spin-off characters to chose from, from the vegetarian Cullen coven to the villainous Volturi vamps.
My vote for spin-off star goes to lovable pixie Alice. Of all the Cullen clan, she's the character whose human life we know the least about. [WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!] Institutionalized by her family because of her "special abilities," Alice remembers nothing of her human life, though we do find out she was turned into a vampire to protect her from James (yes, that James). Cam Gigandet’s turn as the evil tracker was downright creepy, and I’d love to see more. (Plus, part of me feels bad that the hunky actor only got to be in the first installment of the sure-to-be uber-successful series.) I’m also stoked to see Alice meet Jasper for the first time and their introduction to the Cullens.
Here are four more picks to round out my top five spin-off character wish list:
If Dakota Fanning’s turn as the Volturi pain-inflector is even half as mesmerizing as I expect it to be, I’ll definitely pay $12 for the prequel.
I want to see Kellan Lutz rumble with a grizzly.
If only Stephenie Meyer would pen another novel so we can find out what happens to the littlest Cullen.
So maybe this isn’t technically a spin-off, but who cares! Stephenie says her novel "Midnight Sun" ("Twilight" from Edward’s perspective) is on hold indefinitely, but a girl can always hope for more RPattz, right?
Which "Twilight" character would you like to see get his/her own spin-off?
