Two of Seattle Grace's finest are doffing their scrubs and joining the ever-growing cast of Gary Marshall's ensemble romantic comedy "Valentine's Day."
Er, scratch that. It looks like at least one of the docs can leave his clothes on. According to Reuters, Patrick Dempsey will play a married obstetrician (which is totally different from a brain surgeon), who romances Jennifer Garner on the side. Patrick's fellow doc, better known as McSteamy, Eric Dane, will play a quarterback struggling with the decision to retire, reports Variety.
The flick, which follows five interconnected love stories (think "Love Actually" without the English accents) begins filming in L.A. this week boasting a cast of near-Biblical proportions. As we mentioned earlier, the ensemble already includes Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Emma Roberts, Topher Grace and Hector Elizondo. Whoa, that's a mouthful!
With a cast this large it's a possibility Patrick and Eric won't have any actual scenes together, which would be a shame. Of all the characters on "Grey's," the two-well coiffed doctors have some of the best chemistry, whether working together to save a patient or roughhousing in the hospital hallways.
What do you think of the addition of the "Grey's" McDocs?
