Several thousand people are now waiting in line outside San Diego Comic-Con to get into the "New Moon" panel, where we're expecting Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and other cast members to introduce new footage from the film.
Some groups have erupted into cheering, and rumors keep spreading through the crowd about what stars are coming and who's showing up when. All the tents and sleeping bags are put away and most of the fans are standing up, sharing stories of dedication, comparing how long they've been here — some having been in their spot for two nights.
The Comic-Con opened the building early for campers, allowing them to freshen up inside. As the girls primped in front of mirrors inside the restroom of the empty building this morning, there was a sense that everyone imagined Rob or Taylor just might look at them.
Although most of the crowd is women, a few brought along their husbands and dads — and some of the guys are fans too. But while the gender of the crowd is slanted one way, the age of "Twilight" fans seems to run the gamut from gray-haired grandmothers in Team Edward T-shirts to young girls with braces carrying "Twilight" bags.
Anxiety is building as we're all waiting to to be let into the coveted Hall H, where the panel will take place today at 1:45 p.m. And since Comic-Con doesn't empty out the room after each panel, "Twilight" fans will enter the hall at 10 a.m. and sit through other panels in order to save their seat for "New Moon."
But nobody's complaining. The consensus is that we're the luckiest people in the world right now, mere hours away from seeing the stars who play our beloved Edward, Bella and Jacob.
