We all know Alice Cullen would never date one of nemesis vampire Victoria's minions. For one, she's too loyal to Bella and for another, she's in love with Jasper! But if casting had gone a little differently for "Twilight" sequel "Eclipse," that unbelievable scenario could have come true.
Ashley Greene's ex, "Desperate Housewives" actor Josh Henderson, was being considered for the role of college-student-turned-bloodsucker Riley, which eventually went to Aussie newcomer Xavier Samuel, reports E! Online.
"I talked to Ashley about potentially being the new, college, all-American character that's a vampire in the third one," the 27-year-old told E!. "I went for a few auditions, but they went with an Australian kid."
Though he didn't score the role, it doesn't sound like Josh is harboring any bad blood. "I'm completely stoked for her [Ashley] that she's doing her own thing…It's completely changed her life."
On a side note, we can't help but notice Josh's affinity for girls named Ashley. In addition to dating Ashley Greene, Josh had a two-year relationship with Mrs. Pete Wentz, a.k.a. Ashlee Simpson. The actor has also appeared in a music video for, who else, but today's "Star Gazing" celeb Ashley Tisdale. It's an Ashley trifecta for Josh, and I think this makes today unofficial "Ashley Day" on Hollywood Crush.
Would you have rather seen Josh in the role of Riley, or are you content with Aussie Xavier?
