Calling all fashionistas! Next Tuesday, August 4, hoards of models, celebrity types, and plain old fans will line the streets of Chelsea to get their fifteen minutes of fame as they audition for a role as an extra in the Sex and The City sequel. According to the NY Daily News, the open casting call is seeking “Sex and The City fabulous” types, and ads promoting the audition are asking those who think they’ve got the look to come on down.
Last year, MTV News reported that a sequel was in the works, and according to producers, the movie will start shooting soon. With the raging success of the first movie, the follow-up film has been creating a buzz stronger than your Cosmo and fans are eager to find out what’s up next for the fabulous foursome.
MTV News spoke to Sarah Jessica Parker last November about the potential plot for the upcoming sequel. “We are talking about it. We've had very general conversations about the idea. That's the big hurdle: the idea,” Parker said.
As for the slots they are looking to fill, producers are interested in casting a variety of non-speaking "fashionistas" and "chic New Yorkers" for the movie. The ads call specifically for: "models, celebrity types, upscale socialites, urban clubgoers, gays and lesbians, international types (Middle Eastern, Arabic, Asian, European, British) and professional soccer players."
So strap on your stilettos, ladies, and get in line. If you can't make the casting call at the Metropolitan Pavilion at 125 W. 18th St., e-mail a headshot to sexandthecity2@gwcnyc.com.
