Rachelle in Twilight There's more drama going on today in the behind-the-scenes world of "Twilight" than there is during an average week in Bella Swan's life. To recap: late last night Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would we taking over for Rachelle Lefevre as the character of Victoria in the third movie in the Saga, "Eclipse." Then, today, Rachelle spoke out about the recasting in a statement in which she claimed that she was turned down by the studio because of a commitment she'd made to the indie film "Barney's Version." "I was stunned by Summit's decision," she said. "I was fully committed to the 'Twilight' saga ... Although the production schedule for 'Eclipse' is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me."

Just minutes ago, Summit released a response to the actresses allegations, and here it is in it's entirety:
"We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts. Read more...

Rachelle LefevreBy now you've likely heard that Bryce Dallas Howard is replacing Rachelle Lefevre as vampire Victoria in the third Twilight Saga film "Eclipse," due to scheduling conflicts with her indie movie "Barney's Version." But what wasn't clear from Summit's press release was that Rachelle did not want to say goodbye to the saga.

In the statement released yesterday, the studio said "Actress,
Rachelle Lefevre will not continue
in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the
actor has made."

Apparently, that wasn't the full story, according to Rachelle, who just released her own statement on the matter. Read the full release after the jump. Read more...

Danny Masterson It's no surprise that Twitter can inform us about some unlikely alliances, but none more apparent than today's match up of P. Diddy and Deepak Chopra. Diddy Tweeted his Zen-like chance encounter, while Michelle Branch had a run-in while running on the treadmill with a former "American Idol" contestant.

Speaking of "AI," our favorite host Ryan Seacrest (sorry, Dunkleman!) was all about auditions today. But, believe it or not, not for his show! Ryan shared, "NYC, Sex and the City 2 has an open casting call on Tue. for models, socialites, soccer players, all of which I'm none." Our favorite Tweet of the day, however, came from "That '70s Show" star Danny Masterson (pictured), who must have been really moved by our Hump Day Hottie because he 'fessed up to checking out a certain romantic comedy.

Robert Pattinson You may find Edward Cullen's brooding, dark nature kind of sexy and attractive, but the man behind the character, Robert Pattinson, thinks it's all kind of creepy.

“It’s weird, but girls always seem like that. Being a guy, you always just look at girls and think, 'why are you with that guy?'" he told OK magazine in the U.K. “With virtually anyone, the nice guys always seem to come last. You always get weirdos like Edward who seem to attract women for some reason." Read more...

As we mentioned earlier today, Twilighters are a buzz with news that actress Bryce Dallas Howard is replacing Rachelle Lefevre as vampire Victoria in the third "Twilight" installment "Eclipse." (Rachelle bowed out due to scheduling conflicts.) The surprising announcement left us wondering what this means for the sequel and how Bryce will stack up.

Replacing an already established character in a film franchise can be a tricky proposition, as fans become loyal to a particular actor's portrayal of the character. In Rachelle's case, it's unfortunate that she will have spent two movies molding the character of Victoria only to leave her behind in what will likely be the character's shining moment in the Saga. That being said, it's not like Robert Pattinson or a member of the Cullen coven is being replaced. Victoria has always been a B-player in the series, and it will no doubt go on with Bryce in the bloodsucking role. Read more...
