If you thought the "New Moon" madness ended with yesterday's scream-tastic Comic Con panel, think again. A select group of convention-goers and "Twilight" fans who attended last night's special screening of the first film in the saga at San Diego's Gaslamp Theater were treated to not one, but TWO surprises. First, an appearance by cast members: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene. Second, they got an in-person sneak peek at a slew of new "Twilight" merchandise headed soon to a store near you. We, of course, are extending the love and giving you a look at all the stuff right here on Hollywood Crush!

Click on the photo below to see all the "New Moon" merchandise we were able to preview and keep reading for more info after the jump.

Ugly truthBy Haley Murphy

“The Ugly Truth” opens today, and we can’t wait to see what kinds of pointers Gerard Butler has in store for how to land the "perfect" male specimen. Although Katherine Heigl is naturally gorgeous — especially as a a cover girl — Gerard’s character Mike decides to tell her the ugly truth about her non-existent love life. As Gerard teaches Katherine’s character how to find love based on his somewhat outlandish theories (yeah...guys like girls to have hair they can "pull on"), it reminds us of a few other movies where helpful instruction leads to infatuation. You know, when the “teacher” becomes the student, and the love guru sometimes forgets how to play his own game! Read more...

Johnny DeppFROM MTV.COM: Johnny Depp surprised fans at the Disney 3-D panel at San Diego Comic-Con by showing up at the end of Tim Burton's presentation of footage from "Alice in Wonderland." Although Depp didn't answer questions, the crowd screamed and cheered when the actor was onstage, the room filling with flashes of cameras.

The shocking addition of Depp to the stage was a great end to the panel discussion, which began with filmmaker Tim Burton getting cheers of his own from the crowd. In a presentation that included a teaser trailer of various footage from the film in 3-D, Burton laughed about all the wacky characters who populate the world of his version of "Alice in Wonderland," including the Mad Hatter, played by Depp; the Red Queen, played by Helena Bonham Carter; and the White Queen, played by Anne Hathaway.

If you haven't been overloaded by the land of "New Moon" taking over the land of Comic-Con yet (is there such a thing as too much "Twilight"? We're starting to think the dedication of all the fans out there would prove there's not!), then feast your eyes on the clip below from yesterday's Summit Entertainment panel.

When Robert Pattinson is asked how much screentime he'll get in "New Moon" — you know, because this is Jacob's (Taylor Lautner) time to shine — he says it's mostly done in visions on behalf of Bella (Kristen Stewart). "They've done these hallucinations, kind of, semi-visable apparitions," he explains just as Kristen interrupts with: "It's subjective. It's like how she remembers him not necessarily how he actually his." At this point (around 28 seconds), smiles and giggles are exchanged between the two leads and some of you seem to think a longing stare also meant that this was a flirtation rather than just a moment between friends. Press play below and let us know in the comments section below what your judgment call is!

New Moon cast attends twilight screening
By Vaneta Rogers

Thursday was a long day for "Twilight" fans at San Diego Comic-Con, but it ended up being one that none of us will forget.

Not only did we get to see new footage introduced by stars of the film at Thursday afternoon's "New Moon" panel, but Summit Entertainment brought in a slew of cast members later that night for a special screening of "Twilight" at a nearby movie theater. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner showed up for the event along with other stars of the film, waving to fans in front of the theater before the event began. Read more...

New Moon at Comic-ConFROM MTV.COM: Just when anticipation for November's release of "New Moon" didn't seem like it could get any higher, the new footage presented by the stars of the film at Comic-Con sent the crowded room of Twilighters into a whole new level of vampire frenzy.

As soon as the "Twilight" portion of Summit Entertainment's panel began, fans started screaming and it didn't stop once director Chris Weitz was joined onstage by Ashley Greene, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. Read more...

Demi Lovato and Trace CyrusFROM MOVIES BLOG: One of the more interesting panels at Comic-Con this year not specifically geared to plug an upcoming movie was Entertainment Weekly’s forum discussing the role of female heroes in modern pop culture. Sigourney Weaver, Eliza Dushku, Zoe Saldana and Elizabeth Mitchell were seated on the dais before an enthusiastic standing room only crowd. It took about 20 minutes for someone onstage to realize Saldana's and Mitchell’s nameplates were misplaced.

Before Buffy slayed, Lara Croft raided and Starbuck, er… drank, Weaver was bitch-slapping Paul Reiser and basically inventing the archetype for ass-kicking women as Ridley in James Cameron's 1986 sci-fi action flick “Aliens.” Five years later, Cameron would release “T2: Judgment Day” featuring another female action hero. Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton, paved the way for the modern-day heroine who can balance motherhood with her need to pound skulls and work out.

Joel Madden No shocker here. Comic-Con, which kicked off today in San Diego, was one of Twitter's top trending topics today beat only by #intheclub (um, okay....). And you better believe some of our favorite celebs got in on the action. "New Moon" stars Rachelle Lefevre and Christian Serratos announced they were in a bus headed to the convention center, while "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane claimed he had no idea what all the "Twilight" fuss was about. Get with the program, Seth!

While one of our favorite heartthrobs (RPattz, natch) was heating up Comic-Con, another sent out a "killer" Tweet about making a fan's day. In other news, a musician's daughter became an aspiring vampire and another musician had a run in with a "real" vampire.

Before you take a look at who tops our Twitter list for Thursday, July 23, don't forget to add @hollywoodcrush to your personal feed. Read more...

Robert Pattinson and Brad PittIs the macho movie star dead? Probably not, but he could sure you some vigorous mouth-to-mouth according to an essay by Esquire.com's new pop-culture columnist.

With the surprising success of movies like bro-comedies "The Hangover" and "Paul Blart: Mall Cop," writer S.T. VanAirsdale argues that the age of the traditional male movie star is over. Whether they're short and shlubby (Kevin James, ahem) or awkward and lanky (Michael Cera, anyone?), a new breed of leading man is taking over the cineplex from the likes of Brad, George and Denzel. FROM MTV.COM: Appropriately enough for a movie series about a vampire clan that never sleeps, "Twilight" day at Comic-Con began bright and early. Gathered together at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (July 23) for an invite-only press conference, a small group of reporters took up about a third of the massive ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront hotel, eager to talk fame, fiction and fanpires with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

"This year, I have something to say," Pattinson laughed, remembering that he was overwhelmed to the point of near speechlessness last year. "It's much more terrifying."

"This is a severely emotional movie. ... There are high points for Bella, but she's a manic-depressive basically," Stewart said of her "New Moon" performance. "There was more to think about. It's a more mature part."
