In June, Miley Cyrus announced that she was planning to partner with designer Max Azria (of BCBG and Hervé Léger) to start her own clothing line for Wal-Mart and it's arrived in stores and online just in time for back-to-school mania to begin.
Miley told People magazine, “I wanted to finally make something that was for girls my age. Something me and my friends would wear. But I’d say anyone from age 8-80 can enjoy this line.” Graphic T’s, funky shorts, and shoes all under $20 complete the label (that price point reminds us of Sarah Jessica Parker's now-defunt line Bitten for Steve & Barry).
Miley admits some of her personal favorite items are the accessories. “I’ve seen leggings like our Miley & Max ones that are about $500," she said. "Ours are so affordable and they look super chic!” The plaid shirts and high-waisted shorts are also clearly a Miley closet staple. Different colored jeans and black vests dominate the apparel, keeping everything seemingly casual with a slight hint of rocker glam.
Miley helped in designing the clothing and says her style stems from her love of the type of funky and edgy clothing she finds in Europe.“Every time I go to Europe I love going to all the funky stores. I wanted to be able to bring those fun styles to the girls of America.”
Will you be buying Miley Cyrus & Max Azria from Wal-Mart?
