FROM SPLASH PAGE: The stars of "True Blood" and the comic book community have intersected in many ways—not the least of which is Anna Paquin's role as Rogue in the "X-Men" movies and Stephen Moyer's upcoming turn in the live-action adaptation of "Priest." But one recently announced connection could be the most unusual of them all.
As part of "Heroes" actor Zachary Quinto's new relationship with Archaia Studios Press, "True Blood" actor Mike McMillian will write a new creator-owned comic book series for the publisher titled "Lucid." Read more...

In addition to Bon Iver, Thom Yorke (the lead singer of Radiohead) and Muse, Death Cab for Cutie has joined the leagues of artists recording original songs for the upcoming "New Moon" soundtrack. Death Cab's submission, "Meet Me on the Equinox," will be the first single released from the album and will debut exclusively on MTV.com on September 13, the day of the VMAs.
"I think that a lot of our songs in general concern a lot of the things the main characters in the books are going through: There's a lot of stuff about relationships beginning and ending, and the questioning that happens around being in love and falling out of love," bassist Nick Harmer told MTV News in a recent interview. A few weeks ago we got our first fleeting glimpse of Volturi vampire Jane (Dakota Fanning) thanks to the "Meet Jacob Black" trailer, which premiered before "Bandslam." Since then, Jane's fellow Volturi members have sadly remained concealed in the shadows. Until now. The villains of Volterra are stepping into the light (so to speak), and we've got your first look at Jane's twin brother Alec after the jump.
Portrayed by Cameron Bright ("Thank You For Smoking," "X-Men: The Last Stand"), Alec is described by "New Moon" author Stephenie Meyer this way: "The pale boy in the pearl gray suit could have been Jane's twin. His hair was darker, and his lips were not as full, but he was just as lovely."
See if Alec's movie look is on par with Stephenie's vision after the jump! Read more...

The tiny Louisiana town at the heart of HBO's hot series "True Blood" seems to be suffering from an embarrassment of riches. For such a small hamlet, Bon Temps has a disproportionate number of fine-looking men. Not that we're complaining. In fact, we've often wished we could jump through the TV screen and roam the bogs and swamps of Alan Ball's fictional world just to rub elbows, shoulders, bulging biceps (you get the drift) with its comely inhabitants. And with so many suitors to chose from, it's hard to pick just one. Which is why we've developed this handy guide to deciding once and for all which Bon Temps man suits you best. After you've found your perfect match, take a look through our entire hunkilicious flipbook to drool over all the dreamy men of "True Blood." We probably don't have to say this but ... enjoy! If — god forbid — our civilization were to disappear, which works of literature, film, art and music should be preserved to represent our society to future generations? That is the question behind the "What Would You Take With You In 2012?" Web site, set up as a viral marketing tool for November's apocalyptic thriller "2012."
Though polls are still open in the art, literature, and music categories, voting has concluded in the film category with a surprising (yet at the same time, not so surprising if you're tuned into what's popular in pop culture right now) victor: everybody's favorite vampire romance "Twilight." Michael Jackson's 1988 docu-fantasy "Moonwalker" placed second with the "Star Wars" series coming in third. Read more...
