It's been the unofficial summer of Megan Fox for sure, but don't expect the starlet to disappear when the leaves begin to fall and sweaters reemerge from storage. Megan will be a constant on the publicity circuit into autumn as her Diablo Cody-penned horror flick "Jennifer's Body" hits theaters in September. One rumored stop is the stage of "Saturday Night Live," where according to Life & Style, Megan will host the 35th season premiere on September 26. Megan's rumored "SNL" gig got us thinking about which other hot young things we'd like Lorne Michaels to line up for the coming season. After the jump, check out the Hollywood Crush-approved wish list of the top five emcees we want to see take the show's stage.

Just as everyone has an opinion, a favorite meal and a nose — albeit a fake one at times — so too does everyone have a birthday... even celebrities. Here at Birthday Bash, it's my mission to salute the fine actors, filmmakers and other Hollywood heroes that are celebrating their special day this week. After all, it's cheaper than mailing a cake!
This week, the party is on for a a Star Fleet captain, a budding wizard and a young New York socialite.
Chris Pine (August 26): Leaping from relative obscurity to instant stardom with this summer's "Star Trek," Chris Pine clearly has a bright future ahead of him. Taking over the mantle of Captain James T. Kirk from William Shatner is no easy feat, but thanks to the directorial assistance of J.J. Abrams and a strong supporting cast, Pine became a science fiction icon practically overnight. Read more...

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Bill Compton, you're certainly not in Bon Temps anymore. The "True Blood" vampire is packing his coffin and hitching a ride to an all-new vampire epic—one that's not based on a romance novel, but a hard-hitting manga series instead.
Variety reports that Stephen Moyer, who plays Compton on the hit HBO series, and "90210" actress Lily Collins are joining the cast of the Scott Stewart-directed "Priest," the vampire-centric adaptation starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q and Karl Urban.

Dakota Fanning may be heading over the rainbow (how very unvampire like!) in a new "Wizard of Oz" sequel, reports the UK's Daily Express. If cast, the 15-year-old would step in to the ruby red slippers of Dorothy's granddaughter.
The remake, described by one Warner Bros. executive as a "darker and more action-packed" take on the beloved L. Frank Baum tale, is being co-produced by Todd McFarlane, the man behind "Spawn." Todd hinted at what audiences could expect from his grittier remake saying, "You've still got Dorothy trapped in an odd place, but she's much closer to the Ripley character from 'Alien' [Sigourney Weaver] than a helpless singing girl." Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Songstress Taylor Swift was snapped in front of the Radio 1 studios in London, England yesterday after stopping by to chat with the DJs and design a badge (that's "sticker" for us Yanks) on the BBC radio show "Switch." The country cutie's been in the U.K. to play at the V Festival, but don't worry — she'll be back on U.S. soil in time to play the VMAs next month (and a bunch of tour dates starting on Thursday).
Click on the photo above see the full image of Taylor in her adorable blue and green frock and check out which CW cast premiered their new show this weekend after the jump! Read more...

It is insane to believe, but with all the hype around the return of Stephenie Meyer's vamps this fall, the big screen adaptation of "New Moon," is aiming to be even huger than its predecessor "Twilight." MTV got a chance to sit down with new-to-the-series director Chris Weitz and ask him some questions about the new film.
Most important to the sequel is the incorporation of hottie Robert Pattinson, who has become a sex symbol for "Twilight" fans and integral to the obsession behind the series. In the novel, Rob's Edward is MIA until the end of the story, but Chris said finding the balance between too much Rob just for profits and too little Rob which would spark fan anger was one of the more difficult aspects of the adaptation. HBO's "True Blood" is a fangtastic drama that also happens to be quite funny. Its humor is often subtle, nearly imperceptible like a throbbing vein beneath the flesh of an unsuspecting human. It can be found in the nuanced body language of its stars (Eric's sly smirk while Sookie sucks his blood) and in its whip-smart writing (Andy Bellefleur to Lafayette: "You didn't go on a gay cruise! If you did, you'd come back with more pizzazz, not less!").
But last night's return to Bon Temps brought arguably the most overtly hilarious moment of the entire series, courtesy of surprisingly clever Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten). Read more...

She played the blind girl in "The Village" (and was in "Lady in the Water" too, but who saw that?), but Bryce Dallas Howard didn't become infamous until Summit supplanted her into the role of Victoria in Eclipse, booting Rachelle Lefevre from the character she had played in the two previous "Twilight" films.
Summit claimed the replacement was because Rachelle was scheduled to film her new movie during the time she was supposed to be filming "Eclipse," so when news arose today that Bryce had signed on to produce an upcoming Gus van Sant film, it definitely raised our eyebrows. Read more...
