Oh, bittersweet Labor Day. One last chance to fire up the grill, lap the lake and wear those brilliant whites before kissing summer goodbye. Unfortunately, the long holiday weekend also means —gasp — no "True Blood"! What will we do for a week without Sookie and company? Thankfully, the folks over at EW.com have devised a strategy to get us through until the Sept. 13 finale.
The site has announced a "Write Your Own 'True Blood' Episode" contest, asking readers to imagine what their second-to-last season two episode would look like. Twitterer @SookieBonTemps has also jumped into the fray, adding that she will perform the winning scene for her "True Blood on Twitter Thursday" feature.
You can see the full rules at EW.com, but the basic gist is to write a "log line" similar to the episode description you'd see on TiVo. For example, “Bill asks the Vampire Queen for help; Sookie and Lafayette try to save Tara but encounter an angry Maryann.” Writer Ken Tucker urged fans to "describe plot and character elements that fit into the current storyline, that you know would please and amuse show creator Alan Ball, book author Charlaine Harris, and be fun for your fellow fans."
With that in mind, Hollywood Crush has penned its own episode summary (stolen largely from our nightly dreams):
Fantasy becomes reality when, unbeknownst to Bill, Sookie and Eric consummate their relationship. Meanwhile, Tara and Eggs prepare breakfast in bed for the couple, scrambling the giant egg they've been nesting.
What do you think of our ideal plot line? What would yours be? Make sure to get your entry in to EW.com by Sunday, 9 p.m. (EST).
