Not that you need to be reminded, but "The Vampire Diaries" premieres tonight at 8 pm E.T. on the CW. We already made the brotherly babes Ian Somerholder and Paul Wesley our Hump Day Hotties this week, but that certainly wasn't enough to your blood (get it?) flowing now was it?
Ian, a.k.a. Damon Salvatore, stopped by our offices this week, and after seriously swooning over how striking he is in person (yes, those baby blue's really are hypnotizing), we talked to him about the bad boy vampire he plays in the TV adaptation of L.J. Smith's novels. "He makes trouble," Ian says. "Even people who do good things in the world, some do bad things too, and ... they have their reasons. Damon has his reasons and truly believes what he is doing is right."
After "living" so many years on Earth (170 to be exact), Ian notes that his brother Stefan (Paul) is the only person he has to lean on, which is what fuels Damon to head back to his old stomping grounds, Mystic Falls, in the season premiere. "He misses his brother," Ian explains, "and he also comes back to town 'cause there's a girl there that reminds us of someone in the deep, dark past, and it raises a bunch of issues."
That girl is Elena (Nina Dobrev), a local high school student who already has already caught Stefan's eye ... and so begins the love triangle that befalls oh-so-many bloodsucking tales. That's OK because Ian hints that things will get juicy: "A lot of complications will arise." We wouldn't have it any other way.

Will you be watching "VD" tonight? Which vampire do you like the most, Damon or Stephen?
