Between lingerie scenes and girl-on-girl kisses, it's hard to see how the the slasher flick "Sorority Row" (out today) wasn't just made purely for male enjoyment. But, the stars of the flick want you to know that's not entirely the case.
"There's a lot of female empowerment in the movie," insists Leah Pipes. "We really support each other and I think you can see how much we respect each other on screen." That support, however, came as a bit of surprise to Briana Evigan, who admits to being more of a guy's girl before landing the role of Cassidy. "I never really had that many girlfriends until this film, and now I actually do," she says. "I didn't realize how important it is to have them."
With a laugh, Briana continues, "Not that this movie is the best demonstration of how girls should treat friends, but you can see how much fun we really did have fun together, and you can imagine offset how much we mean to each other and how much fun it all was."
Rumer Willis, who plays Ellie agrees, but says that girls will appreciate "Sorority Row" because they'll be able to find at least one Theta Pie sister they can relate to. "I'm sure when women are watching this, they'll definitely connect to the aspects of the characters, because every girl knows a Jessica, or a Cassidy, or an Ellie. Everyone knows those kind of girls."
And in the end," Briana chimes in, "we still do have each other's back." Sisters for life, right?
