It seems like someone was reading our diaries from elementary school because they are finally making a live-action film about Barbie. Variety reports that Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to make a film about the most famous blonde in the world. And since there has yet to be a storyline, director, writers or actors attached to the flick, we here at Hollywood Crush would like to place ourselves in the casting director's chair for just one moment.
With Hollywood teeming in bevies of blondes who would most likely kill each other for the chance to play the famed doll, we narrowed our list down to five likely starlets who we think resemble the iconic Barbie in some way or another. And, we decided that since Tyra Banks already starred as a doll in "Life-Size," she had her chance. So, now let's give some others that opportunity.
Check out our picks after the jump.

Ashley Tisdale
Since it doesn't seem like Ashley (above, left) will be playing a "Teen Witch" anytime soon — and since she's recently gone back to blonde again — she might have some time on her hands to suit up as the icon. Plus, if she proved anything during her tenure as Sharpay, she loves the color pink just as much as Barbie does.
Sara Paxton
She's already played a mermaid in "Aquamarine," so playing a doll for this leggy blond shouldn't be too out of the ordinary. Plus, she's currently playing a model on her show, "The Beautiful Life: TBL." We're thinking tackling playing the life story of a doll shouldn't be too much of a stretch from there.

Taylor Swift
She's building up her acting resume thanks to her upcoming role in "Valentine's Day," and with her killer looks and her infamous blond mane Taylor (above, left) could be the perfect budding thespian to take on the part. Plus, we can never get enough of this country cutie — no matter what media platform she's taking the spotlight in.
Blake Lively
She's tall, she's blonde and we think that Barbie could be the perfect way for Blake (above, right) to show to the world she's not only able to play a troubled Upper East Sider like her "Gossip Girl" alter ego Serena. And, did we mention she's kind of beautiful? That's pretty much the first trait one needs to play Barbie.

Olivia Wilde
She's been blonde before and she's dirty blondish now, so we're hoping with a bit more peroxide Olicia could certainly embrace her inner Barbie. Her delicate features are also very, very doll-ish. And we thinks that if they cast the "House" star, they'll be plenty guys willing to go see this flick.
So, who do you think should play Barbie? What about Ken?
