FROM MOVIES BLOG: Who will ultimately step into the flip-flops of billionaire Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg for "The Social Network," the David Fincher-directed, Aaron Sorkin-scripted biopic about the company's founding? There've been a number of names floating around the Web — most prominently "Adventureland" star Jesse Eisenberg — but as late as July, when we spoke with "Network" producer Kevin Spacey, no actor had so much as read for the role (or so the Oscar-winner assured me).

On Wednesday, while Eisenberg was promoting his action-comedy "Zombieland," we asked the 25-year-old actor if there was any truth to the rumors.

"They are rumors," he replied. "That is true."

Abbie Cornish plays John Keats' real life love interest, Fanny Brawne, to Ben Winshaw's Keats in her new sweepingly epic romantic film, "Bright Star." So, when MTV News got a hold of the actress, we couldn’t help but wonder if there's a little bit of Keats living inside her now, too.

Turns out though, she's more of a TuPac. "Yeah for sure [I'm a romantic]," she said. "I do read and write poetry and lyrics as well. I love music. Music's a big thing for me. I guess the most contemporary version of poetry would be rap and hip-hop. And I love hip hop. I emcee. I'm a rapper as well."

Get excited! A whole new episode of "Vampire Diaries" airs tonight! With all those enthusiastic words you guys wrote in the comments section of our recap of the season premiere last week, we kind of have a feeling "VD" is going to be a mainstay on your pop culture radars — much like that other vampire franchise that you may have heard of called "Twilight." But, just as fans of Stephenie Meyer's novels want the movies to remain true to the books, so too do lovers of "VD" author L.J. Smith.

That has to mean then that Damon Salvatore himself, Ian Somerhalder, has read the "VD" series backward and forward then right? "I was actually told not to," he told MTV News. "I think by virtue of the fact that they may be deviating very often from the books and not to be married to whatever was in those books. But now I'm checking it out."

Jessica Simpson has been devastated ever since she witnessed a coyote snatch her 5-year-old maltipoo, Daisy, on Monday night outside her home in Los Angeles. As soon as the incident occurred, she alerted followers on Twitter. "My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR!" she tweeted. "We are searching. Hoping. Please help!"

Twitter isn’t the only outlet Simpson is using to help recover her dog. She is working with professional pet finders FindToto.org, who helped Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio find her missing dog. The company has issued an “amber alert” to help find Daisy, and thinks the dog may be injured. "We're kind of an amber alert for missing pets. We took the address of where Daisy went missing and we used that as a bullseye," Busch tells Us Weekly. "We called 1,000 neighbors in the surrounding area [Wednesday morning] and sent out a 30-second message with details about Daisy and her disappearance, and details on how to get in touch with Jessica's assistant.”

It's Thursday. "Fringe" is back for season two and that means we can once again get our weekly fix of the man who won our hearts as Pacey Witter, Joshua Jackson. We here at Hollywood Crush, do love everything about the show — the storylines that always keep us guessing, Walter Bishop and yes, Olivia — but we can't help but fall more and more in love with Peter Bishop week after week.

We've already learned from Megan Fox that she, like "Jennifer's Body" scribe Diablo Cody is terrified of high school girls. They're mean, backstabbing and bitchy, and are oftentimes crueler to their female friends then they are to the boys who worship them.

Though a self-proclaimed high school outcast, Megan has perfected the art of the high school bitch, first in the Lindsay Lohan-headlined "Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen," then in "Transformers" (that scene where she first notices Shia Labeouf's Sam is painful to watch) and now as the ultimate high school demon in Jennifer's Body.

To honor the release of the thriller tomorrow, we've decided to a look back at some of the meanest high school girls in cinema, including a Read more...

Girls, is it a struggle to get your significant other to accompany you to the multiplex once you've uttered the words "vampire," "Edward" or "Bella"? Well, according to "Twilight" star Ashley Greene, that battle might get a little easier when it comes time to buy tickets for "Eclipse."

Whereas "Twilight" and the upcoming "New Moon" focus more on the romantic aspects of the vampire saga, Ashley says director David Slade's vision for the third film is darker and a bit gorier.

If judging by the consistent string of magazines she covers, tabloids that follow her romances and powerful and hottest celebrity lists she graces, it can be deduced that Jennifer Aniston is the sweetheart of America. Her newest film, Love Happens, opens tomorrow, and is a romantic drama that places her opposite "The Dark Knight" hunk Aaron Eckhart.

MTV Movies reporter Larry Carroll had a chance to sit down with Jen when she was promoting the movie and ask her the question that seemed to be so obvious after looking at her film resume: Why do people like watching you fall in love?

I'm not much of a Twitterer. I follow about 40 people, and I'm lucky if I Tweet a dozen times a month. But this week I officially became obsessed with one particular feed: Dead Man's Bones (@WerewolfHeart). And it's not just cause Ryan Gosling (he's pictured second from the right) is half of this gothic, slightly goofy collaboration (but pictures like this don't hurt).

For the uninitiated, Dead Man's Bones is the two-man musical group comprised of Ryan and friend Zach Shields. Both guys use the account, and Zach's making sure you don't forget it tweeting, "This is Zach. It's his band too and we'll both be twittering from this account. Ya Heard Ma http://twitpic.com/hvr59." Their feed is a glorious mix of self-referential humor and backstage access to their upcoming residency at the Bob Baker Marionette Theatre in L.A. After the jump, are a few recent highlights:

Jay-Z's memorable performance with Alicia Keys at Sunday's VMA's must have piqued viewers' interest in picking up his latest album, The Blueprint 3. Jay-Z had a very notable accomplishment, and "House" star Omar Epps gave him props on his Twitter page, posting, "Jay-Z now has the most consecutive #1 albums of any solo artist in history! He just passed Elvis!! (who had 10) BK STAND UP!!!!" John Mayer had some trivia of his own to share today, too, "informing" fans, "Factazoid: over 65 percent of all pancakes are mistakenly referenced as flapjacks." We get the feeling Omar's tweet is a little more factually correct.

On the other end of the Twitterverse, it seems as if former "Hills" costars Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag are still cool with one another. At least, when it comes to clothes. Lauren, tweeted about her label, "Getting ready to head to Bryant park for shows. Can't wait!!," which prompted Heidi to write, "congrats on your clothing line!" Wonder if they'll have the same love for Kristin in the next couple of weeks?

Check out what else celebs were sharing today, from Pink's unfortunate injury to Amanda Bynes' big move to Stephen Colbert's Emmy workout plan! Don't forget to follow us everyday @hollywoodcrush! Read more...
