"New Moon" is still two months away from hitting theaters, "Eclipse" is filming and Summit Entertainment is figuring out who is doing what in "Breaking Dawn" pre-production, but with film rights for Stephenie Meyer's "The Host" being purchased earlier this week, the focus has shifted away momentarily from "The Twilight Saga" and instead to its science fiction cousin.
I've met plenty of "Twilight" fans who still haven't read "The Host," even though its maintained its spot on the New York Times bestsellers list from its debut in May 2008. In many ways, I like it more than "The Twilight Saga" for its intriguing plot and interesting characters. The dynamic relationship between Melanie, a rebel human trying to resist an alien invasion, and Wanda, the alien or Soul who possess her body, is the driving force of the entire novel, and a really intriguing one at that.
So what we at Hollywood Crush have decided to do (since we've had so much luck with it in the past) is put together a wish list (see it after the jump!) of our preferred actors to get cast in "The Host." And this time, if we get it right, please let us know first!

That phrase "The bitch is back" is being thrown around TV plenty this fall (just this week, the CW used it to announce Heather Locklear's return to "Melrose Place"), however, we all know that the use of it to promote Kristin Cavallari's venture back into the world of reality TV is perhaps the most appropos. "The bitch is back," Kristin's costar Stephanie Pratt dished to Jim Cantiello when she stopped by MTV last week. "It's been five years, and I think she had a good five years to really get her bitchiness ready for 'The Hills.'"
The "love" triangle from Kristin's days on "Laguna Beach," which involved her, Stephen Colletti and Lauren Conrad , seems to have transformed itself into a new tangled web between Kristin, Audrina Patridge and good ole scruffy-faced Justin Bobby. But, according to Stephanie, that's not really the spark that ignites the fire in these "Hills."

Time to pick your sides, Crushers. A school rivalry is brewing between East High and the New York High School for the Performing Arts. In fact, "Fame" star Kherington Payne's got some fighting words for those singing and dancing Wildcats.
"I mean, 'High School Musical' is a great movie for that audience and for what it is," said the former "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant. "It's entertaining and it's great, but I think 'Fame' brings a more gritty... it's more real. It's not wake up with makeup every morning and sing a song all together."
We won't have to wait long to see which side emerges victorious seeing as "Fame" shimmies into theaters today. I have a feeling Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and company will win this dance off. But maybe that's just me. Click play on the clip below to hear more from Kherington on the differences between "Fame" and "High School Musical."
Who do you think will win the hearts of musical movie goers once and for all: "Fame" or "High School Musical"? Or do you think the audiences for the two will be completely different?

The opening to this week's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" was the drool-worthiest yet. Don't believe me? Three words: Ian Somerhalder shirtless. Yeah. Anyway, high school hottie Caroline woke up in bed next to a shirtless Damon (swoon), then promptly tried to sneak out of the room. Though that's probably the last thing I'd want to do after waking up next to a disrobed Ian Somerhalder, it makes sense since the sexy vampire attacked Caroline last week while they were getting to know each other intimately. She showed up to school later rocking a jaunty scarf around her neck (conveniently hiding her bite marks), back to her same catty self.
Elena tried to get back to her normal routine by re-joining the cheerleading squad, but quit a couple of days later after realizing it didn't make her happy anymore. Stefan, on the other hand, encouraged by Elena, decided to join the football team. Coach Tanner, also known as the jerky history teacher, wasn't too pleased with the idea since he had a "You Got Served" moment earlier in the day when Stefan schooled him with a superior knowledge of important historical dates, but reluctantly agreed when he saw Stefan's mad skillz.

In honor of "Fame" week here at Hollywood Crush we've been introducing you to the fresh-faced students of the New York High School of Performing Arts. You've already met singer Denise (Naturi Naughton), dancer Kevin (Paul McGill), Hump Day Hottie Malik (Collins Pennie) and rich girl Alice (Kherington Payne). Today, it's my pleasure to introduce you to cutie pie Marco, singer and boyfriend to Kay Panabaker's Jenny, played by Asher Book.
Asher and Marco have much more in common than just near-perfect pipes. In fact, the V Factory member told MTV News that he and his "Fame" character are quite similar. "Marco, he is a lot of me," Asher said. "He's very happy-go-lucky, very normal kid. [He] comes from a really good family, has a lot of siblings but kind of grows up in the family restaurant."

As if we needed another reason to be jealous of "Kyle XY" star Jaimie Alexander (the fact that she's dating Milo Ventimiglia is enough, thanks) she taunted us with her delectable lunch choice. Jaimie (pictured) tweeted, "Chick-Fil-A .....be jealous.....be VERYyyyyy jealous ; ) xoxox." But, she wasnt the only one bragging about a bite to eat, as rapper Asher Roth wrote, "Enjoying an english muffin with CRUNCHY peanut butter...mufuggas." While they both sound good, Frankie Muniz certainly had the most entertaining lunch, posting, "haha... My waitress just yelled..."Is that a REAL dinosaur?? I thought they were extinct!" at the TV that was showing a museum exhibit..."
Elsewhere in the Twitterverse, staunch Twitter defender Ashton Kutcher had some choice words for astronaut John Glenn. Ashton noted, "Listening to John Glenn mock the social web because he doesn't understand it. I wonder if people mocked his space program." Uh oh, we smell another dreaded online battle! So, whose side are you on: Team Kutcher or Team Glenn?
Check out what else had celebs tweeting today, from some successful (and not so successful) trips to the dentist to karaoke sessions with a certain hunky lead singer! And dont forget to get your Twitter fill everyday @hollywoodcrush! Read more...

Hey guys!! We're here bringing you more exciting news about Nordstrom's upcoming line of “New Moon” merchandise, as “Twilight Fashion Week” continues here at MTV!
Yesterday, we showed you the Edward and Jacob charms, but today we’re unveiling one of my favorite pieces, “The Bella Charm Bracelet.” It’s so cute, and we had so much fun modeling (that's me on the left with my fellow intern Chineza, who is sporting the bracelet)! The bracelet (which you can see in all its glory after the jump) is gold with a bejeweled “B” in it for — duh! — Bella. This is definitely one of the pieces you don’t want to miss out on because, while we all may have trouble deciding between Edward and Jacob, there is only one Bella, making it easy for you to show your support for her.

David Boreanaz is apparently a major heartbreaker. That's right the "Bones" star has just revealed to MTV News that he doesn't think we'll ever see Buffy and Angel ever again. He hasn't heard plans of a reunion and to make matters even bleaker for Buffy/Angel fans everywhere, he's not sure he's even willing to play the vampire with a soul ever again.
"I don’t know. I don’t think so. I really don’t," he said. "I really don't know [maybe] if it was done in a way that was smart and good and maybe in a lethal way in a film probably but it just wouldn’t happen in the television era anymore."

America’s sweetheart, Drew Barrymore is a woman of deep intellect and insight. She has played a variety of roles throughout her career — from a girl who speaks to aliens, to a women who’s never been kissed — and has experienced more heartache and adversity in her life than most ever do. In an interview with Parade, Drew revealed lots of deets on her directorial debut for "Whip It," and how it relates to her own life experiences.
As a young girl, Drew was thrust into a dark and downward spiraling world of drugs and alcohol. Unable to escape the grasp of narcotics and all-nighters, the party teen was in and out of rehabs by the time she was 13-years-old and attempted to commit suicide one year later. She has continuously fought an uphill battle to find comfort, love and happiness. "I don't know if I'm completely comfortable ever. Sometimes I can totally let go with complete abandon — sing and dance and run around and not care what people think about me. Still, there seems to be this ball of stress inside me that I can't get rid of."

It's not often students and faculty rub elbows after the final bell, but that's just what happened last night in L.A. as the cast of the singing/dancing flick "Fame" hit the black carpet at The Grove for the movie's big premiere.
Naturi Naughton (who sang at the event before Asher Book's boy band V Factory took the stage) looked stunning in a shiny purple mermaid gown, while equally fashionable Asher (on her right) was working a slate gray suit with some funky white sneaks. Taking a more casual approach to the evening was this week's Hump Day Hottie Collins Pennie. Collins was clad in head-to-toe black (including what appear to be exercise gloves), and topped off his look with a green jacket with blue detailing.
