With a name like Rosa Sparks in "Whip It," it comes as no surprise that rapper turned actress Eve got her kicks knocking around girls on the roller derby track. We mean, Eve's a rapper. She's arguably pretty tough. And, so training for the flick and eventually getting the chance to use her skills in the movie was a very exciting prospect for her.
"At the end of the three week camp, once I was stable on the skates it felt amazing. Honestly, it felt amazing to be going around the track," she told MTV News about the roller derby flick. "It felt amazing to be huddled up with the girls and filming about and hip checking a girl. It really did feel good."
Of course her costar, Andrew Wilson, who plays the tough as nails coach of the Hurl Scouts, Razor, tried his hand at skating as well. "Eve was great. They were all. They went for a three week skate camp. Ellen in particular was an amazing skater," she explained. "I couldn't believe. It was stunt heavy movie and these guys did the vast majority of their own stuff and that came from [director] Drew [Barrymore] really. You'd see her crash into a post and get up and laugh."
