With the first "Twilight" movie grossing more than $380 million world wide and "New Moon" poised for similar success, it's sort of a no-brainer to tap producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey to transform your page-turner into a bloody good movie. At least that's what Lauren Conrad thinks.
"I mean, you can't do much better, right?" the "L.A. Candy" author told MTV News at the West Hollywood launch party for her new Kohl's clothing line "LC Lauren Conrad." The former "Hills" star went on to explain the process of getting her novel onto the big screen.
"Originally when people started talking to me about turning the books into television, I was really excited about the idea," she said. "Then we got approached about the movie and I wasn't really sure it would work. The story is supposed to take place over a couple of years and it's hard to do with a movie."
But during a quiet moment on her book tour, Lauren had an epiphany about how the book could be properly formatted for a movie and voila! She has yet to conjure up any juicy casting choices though. "I feel like I'm going to shoot for someone crazy amazing and then they're going to [say sarcastically] 'Yeah, I'll do your movie," she joked. Oh, Lauren. If "L.A. Candy" grosses even half of what "Twilight" managed, I'm sure you'll have actors lined up around the block!
Are you excited to see "L.A. Candy" turned into a movie? Do you have any good casting suggestions (besides Ashley Tisdale or Aubrey O'Day for a Stephanie Pratt-type)?
