Ever since Lindsay Lohan made her acting debut in "Parent Trap" as a child actress, her life has been a long dwindling road of controversy. Today’s report on Women’s Wear Daily of her bomb on the Paris Fashion Week runway this past weekend — she was recently enlisted as an "artistic advisor" for French label Emanuel Ungaro — certainly does not amend that road. Lindsay debuted her line for Ungaro (which was co-designed by Estrella Archs, pictured) to critical disappointment: WWD called the line “an embarrassment" and noted that the hot pink and orange clothes looked "cheesy and dated."
Oddly enough, Lindsay had a much different opinion on the matter, telling People that the fashion show was "certainly more than I could have imagined, more than I’d ever hoped for … I couldn’t be happier.”
Perhaps the most compelling quote was when she declared the night and the opportunity "pretty much a fairytale.” This brings us back to when Lindsay tried to follow the path of triple threat Marilyn Monroe — singer, actor and dancer. She released debut album A Little More Personal (Raw) in 2005 to commercial letdown with only one single barely hitting the Billboard Top 100. What other great ideas could she possibly have up her sleeve (hopefully not more skin-tight leggings!)?
On a more serious note, her private life has become of vast concern. In 2007, she sustained massive weight loss that led to speculation having anorexia or bulimia That same year, she was involved in several DUI’s and car accidents leading to a culmination in late 2007 when she plead guilty for cocaine use and driving under the influence. She spent precisely 84 minutes in jail and did ten days community service. More recently, she was mum on her nearly two year relationship with Samantha Ronson, preferring not to be sexually classified as hetero or homosexual.
Lohan is set to return to the big screen when she costars with Robert De Niro and Jessica Alba in upcoming thriller "Machete."
