Sure Aasif Mandvi is starring alongside Jackson Rathbone in "The Last Airbender," but that doesn’t mean that he gets why anyone would want to be a vampire. Obviously, Jackson only plays a vampire in the "Twilight Saga," it's not like he actually craves human blood. But still, to Aasif that whole vampire/werewolf thing seems a bit dangerous.
"Oh, neither!" he told MTV News when asked to pick which he'd rather be. "Both of those are rather depressing lifestyles. I'd rather just be a human being. You would pick one of those? I mean a werewolf you keep turning into a werewolf and a vampire you have blood. They both seem like dysfunctional lifestyles to me."
Not that this means that he's anti-"Twilight" in any way because he's not. Then again he won't be attending TwiCon anytime soon either. "Um you know I watched it and I enjoyed it," he said. "I wouldn’t say I'm a fan but I liked it."
Still, "The Last Airbender" could use a Robert Pattinson to go with Jackson Rathbone's, well, Jackson Rathbone. So, is Aasif up for it? "Me? Yeah that’s what I would say ... I would say I'm the Robert Pattinson of 'The Last Airbender.' Yeah I would. I am absolutely," he laughs. "That’s what I would say."
