Taylor Swift hasn't been shy about her love for stationary, cards and writing letters. So, knowing her connection with written prose, it doesn't come as a huge surprise that the singing superstar has hooked up with American Greetings.
The singer will create a line of greeting cards, gift wrap, stationery, online custom photo products and online greetings for the company. The line is expected to hit stores in Spring 2010, according to a press release.
“My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could. I feel the same way about greeting cards,” Taylor said in the release. “I’ve always been fascinated by feelings and how we express them to each other. Getting to write and design these cards is a wonderful experience.”
The CEO of American Greetings, Zev Weiss, called this collaboration "a natural fit," adding that Taylor's "abilities as a storyteller and songwriter make her a natural at writing cards for consumers of all ages. Well, you know what they say about the power of the pen...
Last year, on the days leading up to Taylor's 19th birthday (she turns 20 on December 13), she revealed to MTV News her love of greeting cards and explained that if you ever want to buy her a gift, it might be the right one to get her. "The best gift for me would be stationery — I really like cards a lot."
What do you think of Taylor's new endeavor into the greeting card industry?
