About an hour after Dakota Fanning's Jay Leno gab session last night, we were treated to Taylor Lautner’s appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (Kristen Stewart was in Fallon's hot seat on Wednesday night). But, just like Jay, Jimmy had his own “Twilight” skit try and tickle fans’ funny bones. Jimmy revived his "Robert is Bothered" sketch, which includes the host playing an angry Robert (who inexplicably sounds like John Lennon) sitting in a tree complaining about everything that’s bothering him.
So what was bothering Robert in this installment? Movies, sequels, werewolves, the wolf pack (they are the “O Town of werewolves”) and “New Moon” which should have been called “Twilight 2” because the sequel to “Rocky” wasn’t called “New Rocky.” Sorry, Jimmy, but all we want to see Rob doing in a tree is k-i-s-s-i-n-g.
After the commercial break Taylor came out wearing an olive (velvet?) jacket, a skinny red tie and dark jeans (I promise, he pulled it off) and he and Jimmy discussed Kristen’s “impressive” football skills from her “Fallon” appearance. But, it wasn’t all KStew love, as Jimmy revealed nothing less than his man crush on Taylor, gushing, “This is your movie!” and “God, you got jacked!” Taylor explained he got said bod with a “disguising” diet of protein shakes and carbs (wha?!)
While there was no panty talk, there was most certainly the shirtless discussion. Jimmy mimed Taylor’s slo-mo shirt stripping and that he has “35 abs and each one gets a close up and a line in the movie.” But, his abs were hardly the hottest thing on the set, as Taylor explained the long hair wig he wears in the movie was “itchy and hot.” So hot in fact, Taylor suggested the crew burn it when they wrapped shooting.
The Michigan native went on to talk about his Thanksgiving plans of “relaxing at home, sit down and watch a football game.” (He’s a Detroit Lions fan, in case you’re keeping score.) They then cut to the clip (anyone else getting sick of seeing the same ones?) of Bella slapping Paul and evoking a werewolf face-off between him and Jacob. Of course, that face-off was no match for the “dangerous” motorcycle race between Jimmy and Taylor. Those “dangerous” bikes were teeny tiny models that Jimmy joked he got out of a cereal box. A somewhat baffled-looking Taylor wondered how he’d get on the bike, let alone race it. Taylor let out a nervous, “Oh man!” and he and Jimmy were off to the races by paddling along with their feet.
Jimmy peeled out early, but poor Taylor crashed into walls not once, but twice! Jimmy, being a fair host, helped Taylor get back in the race, but Taylor eventually grabbed his “motorcycle” and made a run for the finish line. A small victory for Team Jacob!
