"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" hits DVD today, and with it are a whole slew of bonus features and deleted scenes (and the trailer for "Deathly Hallows: Part 1"!). We've been dishing them out to you over the course of the week, and here again we have a special deleted scene from the end of the film for your viewing pleasure.
While "Half-Blood Prince" was far more accessible to the average viewer than director David Yates' previous "Harry Potter" effort, "Order of the Phoenix" (and yes, "Twilight" fans, accessibility outside the fan base is an important element of filmmaking), there were still certain elements Yates dropped the ball on — like, you know, the importance of the Half-Blood Prince. Here is a scene that looks like it was cut because it was a bit too explanatory, but the revelations contained about the vanishing cabinet definitely could have been included in the film to its benefit.
What do you think about the scene? Do you think it should have been kept in the theatrical cut or left out?
