You've gotta hand it to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association—they know how to throw one bloody good party. Even though the Golden Globes aren't until January 17, the HFPA invited Hollywood's finest for an evening out at the 2nd Annual Golden Globes Party Saluting Young Hollywood at Nobu Los Angeles in West Hollywood. In addition to bringing together enough hot young stars to cause a fire hazard, the fete honored this year's Miss Golden Globes, Alfre Woodard's daughter Mavis Spencer.
Every one of our current vampire obsessions was represented last night by at least one bloodsucker. Our favorite "True Blood" hottie (sorry, Bill), Alexander Skarsgård worked a hipster look in gray denim and blue plaid button-down paired with a black cardigan and a gray suit jacket. Fellow undead Ian Somerhalder also took a casual approach, looking yummy in a gray henley with gray pin- striped pants and a tuxedo jacket. And not to be outdone, "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz looked dashing in all black.
Ian's lovely female "Vampire Diaries" costars came out in force with Nina Dobrev looking playful in a strapless black and white mini-dress with lacy leggings. Katerina Graham cut a dramatic form in her own black and white confection, donning what is quickly becoming her signature accessory—a handpiece. Unlike her "Lovely Bones" premiere piece, this copper studded ornament, which was affixed to a black glove, was slightly (ever so slightly) less dangerous looking. Costar Candice Accola was flirty in a tiered teal mini-dress accessorizing with a chunky silver chain and a black shrug, while dearly departed Vicki (a.k.a. actress Kayla Ewell) showed some skin in a bronze, one-shouldered frock.
And what would a young Hollywood party be without a Disney star or two? "High School Musical" star Ashley Tisdale's billowy blue and silver-streaked dress was a bit Ice Capades-ish. "Twilight" and "Up in the Air" star Anna Kendrick fared much better in her cute black and silver frock while "90210" resident Jessica Stroup resembled her onscreen character Silver in a white V-neck tee, glittery metallic mini skirt and black boyfriend jacket
Though Ashley's red carpet look won't be winning her an award anytime soon, the dubious honor of worst dressed clearly goes to "True Blood" actress Rutina Wesley, whose dowdy white wife beater and calf-length skirt couldn't be saved by a somewhat-stylish black leather jacket. Thankfully for actress Brittany Snow, less was more with her smart LBD and chunky necklace, while "Zoey 101" star Victoria Justice shimmered in a one- shouldered metallic frock.
The Golden Globes air January 17th on NBC and MTV News will have it covered every which way, with photos, interviews, analysis, live blogs and more!
