Remember the buzz surrounding Miley Cyrus when people deemed her the next “Britney”? Well it seems as if hit producer Timbaland feels that the “Party in the U.S.A.” singer is more so like Brit’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake. Yes, you read correctly!
Timbaland worked with Miley on the song “We Belong to the Music” for his new album Shock Value II and had nothing but praise for the singer when he spoke to MTV News. “I look at Miley as a female Justin Timberlake," he said. Believe it or not, Timbo was actually shocked his session with Miley went so well. “The reason why I say that is her work ethics are incredible. That girl can sing so good that I was very impressed. I couldn't believe it. I'm like, 'This is Miley Cyrus? She's singing the song?'"
His JT comparison only comes as praise since Justin was one of the few artists to survive the mega pop explosion that hit the music scene in the late 90’s. And Timbaland has faith that Ms. Cyrus will be able to do the same. “When you go that [teenybopper] route, you can only be big in two places — either TV or music," he said. "And hers, unfortunately, is TV. So she's big at TV and music. She's got to build up to that." the producer admitted.
But until then, Timbaland revealed that “She gonna get there — watch” delivering music and acting roles. “She went in and knocked it out. She killed it," he said of their collaboration. And even though, they spent hours in the studio to get the song just right, Timbo made note that "She loved the song, so she killed it."
What do you think Hollywood Crush readers? Is Miley the female JT or will she be held back because she wants the best of both worlds?
