Chace Crawford Is Aware That People Watch 'Gossip Girl' To Oogle At His 'Pretty Boy' Good Looks

If part of the reason you tune into "Gossip Girl" on Mondays is to catch a glimpse of the oh so dreamy Nate Archibald, played by Chace Crawford, well we don't blame you, and apparently neither does Chace.

The actor recently confessed to WWD Beauty that he knows his dirty blond hair, blue eyes and … well, all-around good looks, are apart of the show's appeal.

“I’m not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why the show’s popular and part of the reason [why] people want to see it is to be like, ‘Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy!’” Chace told WWD Beauty. “And that’s all fine and good. It is what it is.”

Of course, Chace is more than just a pretty face and he plans to prove his acting mettle with more ambitious projects in the future. “I love doing [Gossip Girl], but obviously I’ve got to switch things up. There are so many things I want to do.”

The first step on the road to switching things up, is a remake of the 80s classic "Footloose," in which Chace gets to show off some dancing skills.

But that's just the start. Chace is also working on the upcoming movie, "Twelve." Directed by Joel Schumacher, he'll will play a teen who gets caught up in the rougher side of the Upper East Side. “I got to work with Joel Schumacher and do something much darker and more liberating,” he said.

Hmm a darker and more liberated Chace? That's an idea we can definitely get behind.
