Last week, we noted that Lindsay Lohan was making a trip to India to help impoverished children and film a documentary for the BBC. During her time overseas (yes, in all, what five days?), Lindsay took to her Twitter account and made some statements that prove that this party girl just might be turning herself around.
On December 9th, Lindsay tweeted, “Going to make one of my lifelong dreams on my list of things to do in this lifetime!!!!! Wish me luck! Fill you guys in when I return to USA.” Following that tweet, she also wrote, "Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time.... hope everyone can see that."
According to People, while in India, Lindsay visited the Sanlaap women's and children's shelter outside Calcutta, which houses young women and girls who were victims of trafficking and other forms of exploitation. She spent about three hours with residents and watched dance performances by the children.
Lindsay’s trip wrapped up this weekend and upon her return, Dina Lohan told People, "Lindsay is home from India now. I am so proud of her for going."
The starlet traveled around India with a four-person camera crew from the BBC and her friend, stylist Patrick Aufdenkamp, tweeted earlier this week, "Can't wait for everyone to see the documentary of [Lindsay] with the incredibly brave children we met on our journey."
