So what happens on the set of FOX's hit show "Glee" when the series takes home the most Golden Globes nominations of any TV show? Apparently not a thing. "We have dance rehearsal right now and then I have to go to the recording studio and record two songs," Lea Michele told Hollywood Crush. "So we’re still working here."
It may sound like Lea's not fazed at all by her Best Actress nomination, but when we called to congratulate her on the awesome accolade, believe us when we say, she was literally out of breath (a fete we'd probably never see her alter ego, Rachel, succumb to). "I feel so amazed — I'm still in complete shock!" she exclaimed just before describing how it all went down this morning. "I was at home with my best friend and we were jumping up and down. I had just turned on the TV to see if 'Glee' was nominated, and I heard two nominations for 'Glee'—one for Jane Lynch for supporting and one for Lea Michele for Best Actress"
In the midst of Lea's "Glee"-ful daze (get it?), the show itself also got nominated for Best TV Series: Comedy or Musical and the club's singing coach extraordinaire, Matthew Morrison, get a nod, too. Obviously, this goes to prove that the TV show about losers is actually quite the opposite. "We’re the little train that could," Lea said. "I think that 'Glee' just shows you that anything is really possible as long as you believe in yourself. I know it sounds cheesy, but that’s what I’ve learned within this process. I’m so happy to be a part of this show that inspires people and makes them smile."
Something that's now making Lea herself smile is a glance at the other names alongside her in her Best Actress Golden Globes category: Toni Collette ("United States of Tara"), Courtney Cox ("Cougar Town"), Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie") and Tina Fey ("30 Rock"). "I know, it’s crazy!" she said of her seasoned cohorts. "To think about the women who have been nominated and won in this category over the years, is unbelievable."
And don't worry, the actress has remained humble about overnight success. "The fact that I’m 23-years-old, I come from musical theater and I’m from the Bronx — I’m just a girl who was lucky enough to land this job and that they wrote such an incredible character. I feel like Cinderella right now, I really do."
