With a career as successful as Carrie Underwood’s, it can be hard to stay grounded, especially at 26-years-old. But with 11 number one hits and four Grammys under her belt, this blonde beauty is surprisingly down-to-earth. Carrie opened up to Self magazine this month about her surefire tricks to looking like the most gorgeous girl on the block (or, in her case, the industry), but remaining the “girl next door” at heart.
So, how does Miss Underwood stay so beautiful? She divulges her healthy eating and workout tips, which include paying attention to calorie consumption, and “eating clean.” Carrie admits to keeping a food diary where she logs everything she eats in order to analyze what she’s actually consuming each day. And as for her healthy glow? She credits her beautiful skin to loads of water, giving up sweets and soda, and cutting the grease from her diet.
Carrie’s svelte figure doesn’t just come from a healthy eating regime, she also breaks a sweat to keep those sexy curves in check. She tells Self that making exercise accessible is key. “I have Exercise TV on cable. Jillian Michaels’s videos will kick your butt. She’s my trainer, and she doesn’t even know it!”

But it’s not just a pretty face that makes Carrie so popular. We can all attest that her talent is undeniable. Aside from her crowning achievement of winning American Idol in 2005, Carrie describes some of her happiest moments as being named Entertainer of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2009. Her other happiest moment? Taking her mom and sisters to London, Rome and Venice last year on a family vacation.
With so many accomplishments and goals achieved already, what’s left for Carrie? She wants to give back, and has big plans in store. “I want to give more back. Before I die, I want to get rid of all my money. Recently, I started a foundation to benefit my hometown. I’m looking forward to doing a lot of good for a community that’s a big part of why I am who I am.” Is there anything this girl can’t do?
