With Susan Sarandon's red carpet look last week at the "The Lovely Bones" premiere and Sigourney Weaver rocking it at the London and US premieres of "Avatar," the message has been sent that 60 is the new 40. So, because we were so inspired, we decided to take a look back at the other sexy female stars whose genes we hope to have when we grow up too! [Note: before you all go thinking, "Where's Meryl Streep?!?!," I didn't include her on my list because while she is absolutely fabulous, I don't find her to be all that smokin' in the sexy department!]
Sigourney Weaver
When you go see this week's "Avatar" (and trust me, you're going to want to go see "Avatar"), one of the first things you'll notice from Sigourney's first line is just how kick ass she still is. At 60-years-old, the woman who first saved humanity from aliens has still got it. Though she might not be returning to the world of Pandora any time soon, Sigourney is keeping her work load heavy while still looking fabulous with Greg Mottola's 2010 comedy "Paul" and, of course, "Ghostbusters 3."
Susan Sarandon
At last week's "The Lovely Bones" premiere, we couldn't help noticing just how fantastic Susan Sarandon looked strutting the red carpet. Though she plays a grandmother in the film, Susan is far from looking her 63 years. If you need more proof, look no farther than Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg's "Saturday Night Live" "Motherlover" digital short from earlier this year. Susan is keeping herself busy with the anticipated 2010 sequel, "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps."
Helen Mirren
After winning an Oscar for her role as the queen of England in 2006's "The Queen" (and looking beyond amazing in her red carpet dress that night), Helen Mirren didn't stick to drama-heavy introspective films. Instead, the 64-year-old went on to star in the action flicks "Inkheart" and "National Treasure 2: The Book of Secrets," as well as this year's thriller, "State of Play." With at least seven projects lined up for the next year — including Zack Snyder's newest, "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" — Helen is making a strong entrance into the next decade.
Diane Keaton
Though 2009 was Diane Keaton's year off, she has certainly been keeping up with actresses far younger than herself over the past years. The 63-year-old actress, who made a name for herself along with Al Pacino in "The Godfather" trilogy and is known best as Woody Allen's muse in "Annie Hall" and "Manhattan," teamed up with Mandy Moore and Lauren Graham in 2007's chick flick "Because I Said So" and with Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah in 2008's comedic caper "Mad Money." Diane will be returning to the big screen in 2010 alongside Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford and Patrick Wilson (and Jeff Goldblum!) in the comedy "Morning Glory."
Catherine Deneuve
Considered one of the "grandes dames" of French cinema, Catherine Deneuve is pumping out films and looking fantastic at 66-years-old. Though few of her films make a splash on American shores nowadays, Catherine has consistently been a part of the French film industry since she first hit the scene in 1957. Her first American role was in the 1965 Roman Polanski film, "Repulsion," and she has still been a part of our industry to this day, most recently in 2001's "The Musketeer" and in a 2996 episode of "Nip/Tuck." She has two films slated for 2010 release: "Potiche" and "The Big Picture."
