Another day, another "True Blood" casting scoop. We've already heard about new vampires, werewolves and shape-shifters rearing their supernatural heads in the backwater town of Bon Temps, but this time, we're not exactly sure what kind of beast we're dealing with.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Lindsay Pulsipher, recently seen on "The Beast," is joining the third season cast of "True Blood" in the recurring role of Crystal, who is described as "a mysterious and haunting beautiful young woman who shares an 'electric connection' with Jason."
Clearly, Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) is in a position where he could use some love. Since season one, the dimwitted brother of telepathic Sookie (Anna Paquin) has gone from being a vampire blood addict to joining an anti-vampire army to leaving that army to accidentally murdering Tara's (Rutina Wesley) boyfriend, Eggs (Mehcad Brooks). As you can see, to say that Jason's ride has been rough is something of an understatement.
Hopefully, Crystal offers something that Jason's other girlfriends haven't yet been able to — namely, sanity and stability. At least three of Jason's romantic partners were killed in the first season of "True Blood," while last season's romance between Jason and Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) ended poorly for both of them.
Of course, it's very possible that Crystal is just another deadly supernatural creature with bad intentions for poor Jason. She's certainly in good company, as this season is already bringing a new werewolf named Alcide and a new vampire boyfriend for Tara.
