Here's hoping the casting department of "Vampire Diaries" gets a nice long Christmas break, because those folks have been busy! Just in time for the holidays comes news of another fresh face joining the series: "L Word" and "24" actress Mia Kirshner.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the pretty brunette has been cast as history teach Alaric's (Matt Davis) "sweet-yet-dangerous" wife Isobel and will first appear in the Jan. 21 episode. But wait? Am I the only one scratching my head? The cute prof who's been so sweetly flirting with Aunt Jenna is actually married? Before you call the morality police, E! Online had a bit more to say on the topic. (Warning: It's spoilery!)
The site is reporting that Mia's Isobel will only appear in flashbacks because she is in fact dead! They also hint that one of the Salvatore brothers may be to blame for her demise and that Alaric may be in town to seek revenge. Sadly though, we're still no closer to discovering what the vampire-killing history buff actually is.
And Alaric may not be the only vengeful vampire hunter out there. We can confirm that "Big Wolf on Campus" actor Brandon Quinn (he also appeared "The O.C." as the son of the Texas oil big wig, The Bullit, who romanced Julie Cooper) will also be making a guest appearance on the series. Though a rep for the CW show told us, "we aren't confirming anything about his character," BuddyTV is surmising that he'll play Lexi's (remember poor staked Lexi, who was played by Arielle Kebbel?) "menacing vampire ex-boyfriend." Who wants to bet he's looking to even the score with Lexi's murderer (a.k.a. Damon)?
What do you think about the "Vampire Diaries" casting news?
