The year almost coming to a close, and during it, we’ve had the opportunity to get to know some of the freshest young hotties to hit Hollywood every Wednesday when we featured a new Hump Day Hottie. So, as we get ready to ring in 2010, we here at Hollywood Crush wanted to pick our top 10 and, well, remind everyone why we loved them so much in the first place. Last week we revealed the first half of our countdown and today we're bringing you the top five!
Press play above to enjoy the second half of our HDH Top Ten list and keep reading to find out what makes them so deserving of our accolades!
5. Drake
"Degrassi" star turned superstar MC Drake not only was named a Hump Day Hottie this year, but he also made the grade as a Canada Day Hottie. Since being named HDH, Drake has hit the road with Lil Wayne and he had several hit songs including "Best I Ever Had" and "Every Girl," and the So Far Gone mixtape was then released as an EP. Plus, he's even going to produce a Canadian sitcom. How perfect is that?
He won us over on shows like "Lipstick Jungle" and "Privileged," but his job as sexy sports agent, Clay, on "One Tree Hill" really motivated us to name him a HDH. And, it seems that being honored one more time sits quite well with the star. "Am I thrilled? Beyond," he exclaimed when Hollywood Crush called to tell him he was in our top 5 HDH's of the year. "I just won the Oscar/Golden Globe/Emmy of hotness! It looks like someone's bucket list just got a little bit shorter." He added, "So, does this technically qualify me as "vampire hot?" I think it does. Heck yeah! Four words: Best. Christmas. Surprise. Ever. Thanks, MTV!" Anytime, even if Christmas was last week!
3. "Vampire Diaries" brothers Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley
R-Pattz who? Ian and Paul almost made us forget about "Twilight" as we tuned into the "Vampire Diaries" every week to get more face time with the onscreen siblings. With new episodes returning in January, and with Ian making an appearance on "Lost" this season we're bound to be glued to these guys for quite some time.
2. "True Blood" vamp Allan Hyde
Allan's time on "True Blood" may have been short lived, but his turn as the old soul, Godric won our hearts and tears. The adorable Denmark native is still very up-and-coming with a few projects in the works, so we're hoping we can catch a glimpse of him again very soon. (In fact, "TB" creator Alan Ball hinted at a return of Godric — in a flashback — in a September interview with TV Squad.)
1. "Criminal Minds" actor Matthew Gray Gubler
The "Criminal Minds" star returned as Simon in "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," where he cracked the top three at the box office. Since we have a soft spot for guys who play nerds (Dr. Reid and Simon certainly qualify), which is why he made the top HDH for 2009. Let's not forget he also had us swooning in "(500) Days of Summer." "Criminal Minds" is sure to get juicier as the season continues so we wouldn't want to miss a minute of it. And, he seemed pretty excited to come out on top. He simply told Crush of the honor: "Yesssssssssssssssssssssss!"
That's it for 2009, but staring in January 2010 we begin paying homage to a whole new set of studs. You're not going to want to miss this eye candy.
