Alvin the Chipmunks may be the most famous chipmunk boy band on the face of the planet, but as fate would have it only one of the chipmunks can sing in real life. At least that’s what Jesse McCartney, who plays Theodore in "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" (out today), thinks. And we can't help but think he's giving our former Hump Day Hottie, Matthew Gray Gubler, a little jab when he spoke to MTV News about the flick.

"I don’t know, actually that’s a good question. I'm pretty sure Justin [Long, who plays Alvin] doesn’t sing. Matthew may sing," he said. "He looks like the kind of guy that would sing to himself alone in the shower."

Although the boys don’t actually have to do any of their own singing, Jesse notes that one thing he was really excited about was getting a love interest in the flick. His leading lady? None other than funny girl Amy Poehler (what a cougar!).

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

With two days left until Christmas, it's down to a mad dash to get everyone checked off the old shopping list. And don't think celebrities aren't doing a little last-minute purchasing as well. "Melrose Place" star Ashlee Simpson along with hubby Pete Wentz and cute (and very blond!) son Bronx were out and about in New York City yesterday browsing the wares at famed department store Barneys. The Simpson-Wentz clan is in NYC while Ashlee continues to star as Roxie in the Broadway musical "Chicago." She can be seen sing and dancing in the production through early February.

The idea of watching hot Aussie actor Sam Worthington in the two-and-a-half-hour “Avatar” is pretty appealing — until you realize that he’s CGI’d as a vaguely feline-looking blue creature for most of the movie. Don’t worry, the film’s gotten some pretty great reviews, so if you drop some dollars on the movie, your time will be well spent. But if you’re looking to ogle the heartthrob in a more natural-looking state, check out this photo (and accompanying behind-the-scenes video) from the January issue of Vogue (on stands today).

The shot, by photographer Norman Jean Roy, features Sam brooding sexily on a motorcycle in work boots and a black ensemble while model Raquel Zimmerman poses fiercely beside him. It’s got a very post-apocalyptic look to it all (which kind of recalls the iconic Australian movie “Mad Max”), especially Raquel’s “macram-and-crochet fringe dress” by Rodarte. To duplicate the designer’s look, you might want to stop by your local Target and check out Rodarte’s affordable, limited-edition line there (though word on the street is that, eBay may be your best bet now to snag some of those threads!).

Move over Beyonce, Eva Longoria Parker wants to put a ring on it, too: a ring on her own signature scent that is. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the perfume, called Eva by Eva Longoria, is due out in the US in the Spring.

“I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear,” she told WWD. “So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that."

He hasn't even worked his first shift as Mystic Falls' hunky new bartender, but "Reunion" star Sean Faris has already landed himself a spot on the cover of Men's Health touting his new role and his killer physique.

Sean's multi-episode arc begins Jan. 21 with the first "Vampire Diaries" episode after the holiday hiatus. As we reported earlier, Sean plays an ex-footballer-turned-bartender who may be romancing one of the series' lovely ladies. No word yet on whether he flashes his six pack to woo that special girl, but the 27-year-old did spill to the mag about how he got his body in tip-top shape—words of wisdom us ladies can live by too.

Slip on your Manolos and grab a Cosmo, girls, because the first "Sex and the City 2" trailer is here! The nearly minute-and-a-half trailer reveals few plot points, but the sequel looks like another fun- and fashion-filled romp, centering around a girlfriend getaway to the desert.

The trailer (see it after the jump!) opens with quick shots of New York City accompanied by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' seriously apropos hit "Empire State of Mind." "It's been two years and in two years, amazing things can happen," purrs Sarah Jessica Parker. Cut to Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) sauntering down a Big Apple sidewalk, Charlotte (Kristin Davis) baking cupcakes with her 2-year-old daughter Rose and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) doing something at what appears to be a wedding (the rumored Stanford Blatch-Anthony Marantino nuptials, perhaps?).

If the "Eclipse" still we debuted earlier today didn't fully satiate your Robert Pattinson cravings (we'd already seen the pic in People, after all), then we've got another dish for you to try. Summit has just released a new still from Rob's other upcoming project "Remember Me."

In the film, Rob plays melancholy college student Tyler who's grieving after a family tragedy. He finds refuge in fellow co-ed Ally (played by "Lost" star Emilie de Ravin), who he begins a romance with. Pictured here, Rob appears to be reading over journal entries or perhaps some poetry in his New York apartment. After rewatching the trailer, this still seems to be taken from a scene when Tyler's roommate bursts into his room to first tell him about Ally (fast-forward to the 1-minute mark to see if you agree). Though Rob looks appropriately hipsterish in his flannel and dark denim, we can't help but prefer him in his Edward Cullen blues.

Perhaps no one could have better described seasonal stress better than "Glee" star Jenna Ushkowitz, who tweeted earlier today, "Holiday traveling= maddness." Of course, she Jenna wasn't the only one trying to get home for the holidays in time, as "Dancing with the Stars" hot stepper Stacy Keibler experienced similar woes, "Ugh flight delayed. Hate walking with no shoes on at the airport. Thinking of being on the beautiful beach tomm." But, while some celebs battle the elements and the airports, others are taking full advantage of December's blustery blizzard, like new parents Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett (both pictured), who took their snow day to heart. Kendra posteD: "Hank n i just went at it in a snowball fight lol...felt good to get outside n run around a lil. we r 2 BIG kids!!"

"American Idol" breakout star Jordin Sparks won't get to feel like a kid much longer, as the "Battlefield" crooner leaves her teens behind today. Fellow "Idol" contestant Melinda Doolittle reminded fans, "Today is an amazing day! It's @TheRealJordin's Birthday! Happy Birthday baby girl! Enjoy the 20's!!!!" Jordin herself was clearly touched by all the Twitter reception, posting about the various gifts she's already received ("I got a spongebob football", she reported, amongst others) and writing, "You guys I am so overwhelmed! I love you all soooo much! Thank you!"

Back in October, when People magazine put out its special "New Moon" collector's edition magazine, we're guessing that you guys ran out to the newsstand ASAP when you realized the issue boasted the very first image from "Eclipse"!

So, with that being said, we know that the picture below of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) sitting in a field of purple flowers is nothing new to your eyes, but we figured that the only way you you were able to take it all in before was with a magazine's logo on it or from a scan. Well, behold the still in all of it's crisp glory. From it, all we can tell is that costume designer Tish Monaghan continued to favor plaid for Kristen for the third film and Robert sure looks good in steel blue!

Most of us are still reeling from the shocking death of Brittany Murphy, and many celebrities are publicly grieving over sudden loss. From her "Clueless" costar, Alicia Silverstone, to her on-screen (and off-screen) love, Ashton Kutcher, it’s clear that Brittany had a massive effect on those who not only loved her, but worked with her as well.

Brittany’s humble character and warm demeanor has been the one memory everyone has shared of her. Her peers all agree that Brittany was a shining star, gone too soon. One of her most poignant connections was with her “Uptown Girls” costar, Dakota Fanning. "I got to know Brittany when we made the film 'Uptown Girls,'" the "New Moon" star told E! News in a statement.
