Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Katy Perry may be kickin’ back with Robert Pattinson at Karaoke bars lately, but that doesn’t mean she’s leaving boyfriend Russell Brand in the dust. Katy and Rusty were hand-in-hand when they were seen leaving his London flat on earlier today. Docked out in lavish aviator sunglasses and bundled up in their winter jackets, they looked quite toasty. Things between them have been taken to the next level lately, with rumors that Russell bought Katy a mansion and, uh, supposedly proposed (the latter of which, we won't believe until we see proof). Russell’s always been unpredictable and you never know what he’s going to do next. His "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" spin-off entitled "Get Him to the Greek" hits theaters next summer.
To get a better look at Katy and Russell's hang out session, click on the photo above! After the jump, find out what other couple we caught out on a wintery day.
FROM MTV NEWS: Which stars had the biggest year? All this week, we'll be unveiling our top nine men and women of 2009, counting down to the #1 man and woman on Friday.
It's been a big year for Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears, but there's not much question that 2009 was Lady Gaga's year. New York native Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta began the year as a hot hopeful and will end it as one of the biggest pop stars in the world. And there's no one who challenged, provoked, entertained and, well, titillated us over the past 12 months quite like she has.

Though Robert Downey Jr. is sure to be the stand out star of next week's "Sherlock Holmes," word on the street is Jude Law, who plays the title character's sidekick Watson, gives him a run for his money. The Academy Award nominated actor will also be appearing in Christmas' limited release, "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus."
Click on the photo below to see Jude through the years, then read on to find out the past that made him the critically acclaimed actor he is today.
Born on December 29, 1972 in Lewisham, South London, England to teachers Peter Law and Margaret Heyworth, Jude got his start in acting in 1987 with the National Youth Music Theater. After two years on the stage, Jude got his first role on British television in a movie based on "The Tailor of Gloucester." During his time on British television, he got his first taste of Sherlock Holmes in the episode he acted in of "The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes" in 1991.

James Franco is game for pretty much anything. While it's no surprise that the versatile actor is willing to go the extra mile, it sure seemed like Franco was ready to go a few more on what was the last new "Saturday Night Live" of the decade. Though the episode certainly wasn't the best of the season (Taylor Swift and/or Joseph Gordon-Levitt get bragging rights to that, in my humble opinion), Franco gave it his all regardless.
The actor, who admitted in his monologue he had nothing to promote (except, maybe, his fake movie "Hope's Promise"), took potshots at himself about both his stint on "General Hospital" (joking his agent, family and the other actors on the show think it's a "major step backward" in his career) and the infamous picture of himself asleep in class at Columbia University. The rest of the monologue had Franco telling viewers that most of his career moves come from a bin filled with idea slips. So what's on Franco's horizon according to the suggestion bin? He'll play a dead body on "Law & Order," do another
"Spiderman" movie and hook up with every woman in a town in the Midwest (whoops, seems he'd already done that in Kansas!)

We're still reeling from the tragic news of Brittany Murphy's untimely death this morning (keep updated with the unfolding story at MTV News). At only 32-years-old, Brittany managed to have a long and successful Hollywood career. Before popping in our well-worn copy of "Clueless" for a memorial viewing, we sent out a call via Twitter for the roles you liked Brittany in the most. It's hard to pinpoint her greatest performances without leaving out some of our favorites, but here, along with our own input, is Hollywood Crush's list of the best of Brittany Murphy:
1. "Clueless," 1995 (Tai)
In this seminal 1995 teen comedy, Brittany charmed as Tai, a delightfully naive New York teen transplanted into the ritzy world of Beverly Hills. A fish out of water at first — complete with Kool Aid-dyed hair, a penchant for Marvin the Martian drawings and ever-so-hip overalls ("She could be a farmer in those clothes," quipped a catty rival) — post-makeover, she became a plaid skirt-wearing, slang-spouting member of her high school's elite group (which included Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash). Repeat after us: "Rolling with the homies..."

With exactly one week until Christmas, stars are scrambling to get their gifts (and their own wishlists) in order. Lo Bosworth didn't have to think twice about what she wants, posting, "I'm prayin for a Kindle! I'm such a nerd! Woohoooo," while Jewel got in the spirit a little differently, tweeting, "busy little elf wrapping prezzies 2 put in our motorcycle bags-doesnt feel like Christmas yet though-mayb if i start overeating it will help." Some celebs have opted to skip worrying about Christmas and move right on to the new year, like Elizabeth Banks marveled, "Last day of work in 09! Remember when u were a kid & u were like 'in the year 2010, I'll have 3 kids, a hover-car and a giant Atari'?"
We're sure a lot of Jonas Brothers' fans won't be getting what they want for Christmas as Kevin Jonas will be walking down the aisle this weekend. Kev's brother and bandmate Nick Jonas told followers, "Second and final wedding rehearsal today. Very excited! Counting down the hours until the big day this weekend." Of course, Kevin isn't the only one breaking hearts this holiday season, as the engaged John Krasinski (pictured) makes his rounds on the talk shows this week to promote his latest movie "It's Complicated." Apparently when the actor stopped by Ellen DeGeneres' show, he (quite literally) put a female audience member in a trance. Ellen reported: "I knew he was handsome, but I had no idea John Krasinski could cause a girl to do this. http://su.pr/4OYssY"
Check out the rest of today's best tweets out of Hollywood, including Hanukkah wishes, the return of "TBL" online, and "Avatar" excitement. Make sure you follow us all weekend on Twitter @hollywoodcrush to keep up on all the latest on your favorite stars.

By now, we're all very aware that "Jersey Shore" party girl Snooki (a.k.a. Nicole Polizzi) "invented the poof" — as in, before those infamous Bumpits came along, she had already been making her hair raise to new heights. So given that her locks have become so infamous (after only four episodes of the new MTV series!), I was honored to receive a poof from Snooks when she stopped by the MTV Newsroom yesterday.
Reporter Tim Kash proposed the idea and before I had time to formulate a response, I was sitting under the bright newsroom lights with Tim on my left and Snooki on my right. She started teasing my hair and the poof immediately began to take form. "You have to tease the sh*t out of it," she insisted. After about five minutes she began to spray it wildly with hairspray (we found out she prefers the Aussie brand) and then clipped it up. According to the reality star, "Two weeks ago I was a nobody, and now everyone's trying to do the poof." And after having it created on my own head, I can honestly say: it's one sick 'do.
Watch Snooki in action by pressing play below!
Don't miss new episodes of MTV's "Jersey Shore," which air on Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT!

He may have dated teen queen Taylor Swift, but these days, Lucas Till is living the dream in the action flick, "Battle: Los Angeles," set for release next year. The film, which also stars Aaron Eckhart, Ne-Yo, Michelle Rodriguez and "True Blood" star Jim Parrack, revolves around a troop of marines trying to save The City of Angels. Lucas certainly has left "Hannah Montana" behind.
"It's basically any 19-year-old guy's dream job. I get to go to work and shoot guns all day so it's pretty awesome," he told MTV News. "It's basically an unknown force attacks Los Angeles and it revolves around this platoon of marines, which I'm apart of, and then we try to save Los Angeles. And it's kind of like 'Independence Day' and 'Black Hawk Down' mixed."
