With "The Book of Eli" hitting theaters today, it seems only natural that we would choose to check out the evolution of its starring actress, Mila Kunis. The rising starlet seems to be everywhere the past few years: first with her break out film role in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" in 2008, and then alongside Mark Wahlberg in "Max Payne," and then this past year in "Extract." What may surprise you is, despite her recognizable face, Mila hasn't been in that many major projects since she first broke onto the scene 12 years ago.

Born in the Ukraine on August 14, 1983, Mila moved to Los Angeles with her family at age 8 in 1991. It took only a year before Mila started getting involved in acting, starring in commercials for Lisa Frank, Barbie and Payless. In 1995, she got her first television role on "The John Larroquette Show," and she continued to get minor television and film roles until her audition at age 14 on "That '70s Show."
The story of how she got the gig on the television series that would make her a star is the stuff of pure luck and wit: the auditions for her character were for ages 18 and older, so 14-year-old Mila informed the show's casting staff she would be turning 18 "on her birthday." Needless to say, she landed the role, the show's creators gave her props for her creative way of getting into the audition, and Mila turned 18 four years later after four very healthy seasons as Jackie Burkhart. The show concluded in 2006 after eight seasons and 201 episodes.
Mila's second largest claim to fame comes from joining the cast of "Family Guy" in 1999 as the voice of Meg Griffin. Though Peter and Lois Griffin's middle child in no way resembles Mila's slim figure and beautiful face, Mila has been an integral part of one of the most prominent and popular animated shows on television.
Though she has continued to star in movies, her roles were typically second rate and in unknown films. Her most prominent role before she was cast in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" was opposite Kirsten Dunst in 2001 flick "Get Over It." Now, with several successful films under her belt, Mila is receiving better material, like a role alongside Tina Fey and Steve Carrell in "Date Night" and opposite Natalie Portman in "Black Swan," both slated to be released this year.
In addition to her roles on "That '70s Show" and "Family Guy" and occasionally lending her voice to fellow "Family Guy" cast member Seth Green's show, "Robot Chicken," Mila has become famous and beloved in the fanboy community for her admitted affinity for World of Warcraft. She has since lent her voice talents to several videogames, including Saints Row. Fanboys be warned, however, because she has been dating child actorMacaulay Culkin for the past eight years.
