Slipped into their announcement of the Coen's newest feature film release date, Paramount took "Footloose" off their release schedule, Variety reported. In light of Kenny Ortega and Zac Efron both leaving the project, this announcement seemed a bit inevitable.
While we mourn this loss of a chance to see Chace Crawford (he signed on to the movie after Zac bowed out) shaking his booty in true Kevin Bacon style, we would like to propose some other potential musical films for Paramount's consideration (and for Chace to also star in, of course!). Check out our pitches after the jump!

"True Blood" may have left the Golden Globes empty handed, but MTV News didn't leave the ceremony without its fill of the seductive vampire series. An umbrella-weilding Josh Horowitz caught up with actor Ryan Kwanten, who you may know as Sookie Stackhouse's buff brother Jason, to ask what we should expect from season 3. And, unsurprisingly, the Aussie played a bit coy.
"[Expect] the unexpected," he replied. "I think that's what we've become sort of famous for. In terms of predictability, it's really impossible, even though it's based on a series of books. Alan Ball tends to put his own spin on things. It's no different again this season. Every script that comes out never ceases to amaze me."

Ever wonder what John Lennon was like before he was a member of the sensational 60s rock band The Beatles? The movie "Nowhere Boy," which premieres at Sundance, sets out to imagine just that — who was the boy who literally became The Man of popular music?
In our exclusive clip below, get a sneak peek at the early years of John Lennon (played by Aaron Johnson) by dropping in on one of his first-ever studio sessions with his band, The Quarrymen (yup — Beatles members Paul McCartney and George Harrison were also apart of that group). They're recording the track for their first song, "In Spite of All the Danger," and even though we know its a moment fictionalized for film, we can't help but feel like we're witnessing history in the making.
Stay tuned to MTV News and Hollywood Crush for more coverage of the Sundance Film Festival from Park City, Utah!

Last year, every newsstand and Borders bookstore in the country were inundated with magazine covers featuring our favorite "Twilight" vampires in anticipation of "New Moon" November release. (In fact, there were so many glossies dedicated to the franchise that we did an entire post about them!) And while we expect a similar outpouring when promotion ramps up for "Eclipse," we're happy to see another coven score the cover of Nylon. The stars of The CW hit "Vampire Diaries," including Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder vogued for a stylish photoshoot (check out our exclusive images from that shoot below!) and also dished about the ever-popular bloodsucker craze.
When it comes to the genre, "Vampire Diaries" has plenty of competition, mainly in the granite-bodied form of one hunky Edward Cullen. But series star Nina insists her show has its own appeal. "When the show first started... you automatically thought 'Twilight,' " she said. "But once you continue, there's a whole other side of it that goes a lot deeper... It's about letting everyone know that we're different but we all respect each other."

Gleeks sure have a lot to celebrate this week, first there was the "Glee" Best Comedy Series victory at the Golden Globes and then the news that Neil Patrick Harris will be singing and dancing with the nationals-bound New Directions. Now, the "Glee" live tour might be hitting a town near you! Stars of the show told fans the big announcement will happen at the end of the month. Lea Michele tweeted, "Hey everyone! A big announcement coming at the end of the month about our next Glee tour! Lots of singing and dancing to come!!!! " and Kevin McHale posted, "News about the glee summer tour coming soon! We're coming to see all you gleeks live! Wooo! So excited!"
Rest easy if you think you'll be a little starstruck at those live shows (we're betting Mark Salling is even cuter up close) because sometimes even celebs know the feeling. Joe Jonas tweeted about his Denzel Washington aspirations: "I wanna be more like Denzel." "Jersey Shore" bad girl Jenni J-WOWW, however, had a run-in (quite literally) with fame when she made contact with Ashley Judd (both pictured) posting,"Omg just bumped into ashley judd... Literally.. WTF goes on hahaha."
Check out what else had your favorite stars hitting up their Twitter pages today, including Jessica Biel's impressive climb, Alexa Vega's 90s nostalgia and Kristin Chenoweth's odd eating habits. At long last, "The Vampire Diaries" is returning! In preparation for Thursday's first new episode of 2010, Hollywood Crush caught up with Steven R. McQueen, who plays Jeremy on the CW show, to get the scoop on the second half of the show's season. Steven was tight-lipped about what was going to happen to his character, but here's what we managed to learn about Jeremy's future.
It was way back in 2009, but you may recall that earlier in the season, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) pulled his special vampire brainwash-y powers out to erase Jeremy's memory of his girlfriend Vicki's death. The catch is, it's not exactly clear what Damon did. "That's something that's going to unfold itself a little later in the series," Steven said. "[Damon] did erase my pain and my grief and such, but I'm not sure what I can reveal of just how much he shut out of my memory — and if he put anything in there." (Dun Dun Dun... )

Last year at the Cannes Film Festival, just weeks before his romantic drama "Remember Me" was to begin filming, Robert Pattinson declared that his yet-to-be cast leading lady would need "to be literally inspirational." A tall order, for sure, but one "Lost" star Emilie de Ravin embraced whole-heartedly. With several high-profile projects coming up this year, including a return for the final season of "Lost," MTV News has dubbed the 28-year-old one of its 10 to Watch in 2010. We recently caught up with Emilie who dished about her juicy role opposite Hollywood's leading man of the moment.
As we mentioned, Emilie wasn't cast in the role of Ally Craig until just weeks before "Remember Me" began shooting in Manhattan, and as the actress remembers, the whole thing was quite a whirlwind experience. "They'd been looking to cast my role for a while, looking at a lot of different girls," Emilie explained. "I read the script three weeks before they started shooting. I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along and had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by. Obviously you're acting, but you want to have that connection with somebody. We had it. And I was thrown into a wardrobe fitting that same day."

Get your suits pressed and your ankle monitors ready because the crime drama, "White Collar" returns tonight on USA. According to the man himself, Matt Bomer, who plays sharp-as-nails criminal Neal on the series, you can plan to see a lot more "intelligent, procedural stories" in the second half of the season. Plus, "you'll see how far Neal is willing to go to find Kate, and how much he's willing to bend the rules and skirt authority."
Speaking of which, when Matt stopped by the MTV News offices last week, he also raved about how exciting it is to step into Neal's shoes every week. "It's really fun to play people who sort of operate on the outskirts of the moral parameter and like to operate by their own rules."
Naturally, we'd have no idea what that's like because we've (ahem) never broken the law. So, we enlisted Mr. Bomber to explain to us how to be the perfect con-man.

The men have spoken, and AskMen.com has put out its yearly list of the top 99 most desirable women. In what shouldn't be too surprising, Emmanuelle Chriqui took the top honor. Maybe you haven't heard her name before, but the male-heavy audience of HBO's "Entourage" certainly has. Though Emmanuelle has only appeared in six episodes in the past year, her presence and looks were enough to make an impact on the eight million voters.
When Reuters talked to AskMen.com's editor-in-chief James Bassil, he told them the combination of Emmanuelle being the sweet, perfect girlfriend on screen and not a big media presence off screen helped her win this year, whereas last year she was ranked 12.

With Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Eric Northman (Alexander SkarsgÄrd), Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Lafayette Reynolds (Nelsan Ellis) all getting new love interests this season, it's not unreasonable to wonder where the romantic action is heading for less-discussed characters like vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and shape-shifter Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell).
As it turns out, however, there is romance in the future for both characters ... possibly with each other. "True Blood" creator Alan Ball spoke with Entertainment Weekly to reveal that an "erotic connection" is in the works for Sam and Bill, two of Sookie's most prominent suitors.
