'When In Rome' Stars Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard Are Engaged!

Kristen Bell showed off her dazzling new engagement ring on the red carpet at the Grammys last night, given to her by fiancé Dax Shepard. Us Weekly reports that the couple, who began publicly dating in January 2008, got engaged over the holidays.

The pair, who both star in the new rom com "When in Rome" together, admitted that they tend to get a bit competitive both on set, and at home. "We were trying to one-up each other," she told the magazine. "That's what we do at home, too. It's like, 'Wait – watch me do this funny bit.' 'No, watch me do this funny bit!'"

When asked about how they like to spend their time together, Kristen tells the mag that she appreciates her down time and loves being at home with Dax. "There is almost nothing, barring a natural disaster, that I would let eat into my time at home, playing Scrabble with Dax or talking to my girlfriends," she said.

Kristin, who feels that “a snuggle party can fix anything,” says the secret to their relationship success is open communication. "I've learned the necessity for healthy communication. How important it is to talk about your deepest, darkest fears and feelings," she says. "Your partner should hear your most embarrassing insecurities, because once you say them out loud, you've created a safe zone."
