While the rest of us "Harry Potter" fans are mourning the ending of the boy wizard's onscreen tale, actor Tom Felton can't wait for it to end — though not for the reasons that you'd think. A couple months back he said he loved the western-style showdown at the end of "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" and when MTV got a chance to chat with him last week he said he is even more excited to shoot the film's epilogue.
"Daniel [Radcliffe] and I have been talking about it for ages, and we are excited to see what we look like 19 years later," Tom admitted. "We want to make sure that it's flattering and we don't look like 60-year-olds."
His statement seems to confirm that the scene, which was J.K. Rowling's happily-ever-after for the series, will be shot using "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" instead of using older actors to stand in as Daniel's Harry and Tom's Draco Malfoy. Though it has yet to be confirmed, the move seems to be smartest given the decade's worth of recognition from the actors to their characters.
Tom did say that the epilogue had not been shot yet, which is probably some of what he is headed back to film once shooting wraps in Berlin and Los Angeles on "The Apparition." It's most likely the flash-forward scene will be the last one shot during "Deathly Hallows" filming.
"Jamie Christopher, the first [assistant director], was always really keen to do that as the final scene, because it's such a poignant moment for the franchise, that fact that it's 19 years on, and we get to see what happened to the characters," Tom said. "I confess we haven't shot that yet, but we are all extremely excited to do so."
