After weeks of rumors that he and Jessica Simpson are dating, Billy Corgan has finally spoken up. But, for those who are curious if the odd couple are actually romantically involved, you're going to have to hold out a little bit longer. The Smashing Pumpkins lead singer talked to the Chicago Tribune about just how he and Jessica hooked up (musically, that is.)
Turns out, pop (and occasional country) singer Jessica wanted the hard rocking Billy to help write the theme song for her upcoming VH1 reality show "The Price of Beauty," a series which chronicles how beauty is perceived around the world. Billy explained, "I ended up writing part of (the theme song)," adding, "It has a little bit of an alternative-rock edge, but it's still very poppy."
The rocker neither confirmed no denied his relationship with Jessica (hey, at least he'd be a better boyfriend that John Mayer!), but he did mention that he's not letting the tabloid frenzy get to him. "The stuff that I've seen doesn't have any bearing to the reality that I'm in," he said. "It's like being in a cartoon. It has nothing to do with what's really going on or how I feel."
