Taylor Lautner's a very wanted man nowadays. He has upcoming roles in Hasbro adaptation "Stretch Armstrong," Mattel adaptation "Max Steel," "Cancun," "Abduction" and, of course, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." This weekend held lots of exciting news for the newly-legal hunk, so if you were busy soaking up the lazy-rays, here's a quick recap for you.
First and foremost, it is good to be Taylor Lautner. Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood reports that Taylor is being paid $7.5 million to play the title role in "Stretch Armstrong." It's a good thing that Universal is matching the price it was previously announced Taylor would be making for "Northern Lights," because as of Sunday he has parted ways with that film.
Once again from Deadline Hollywood, Taylor reportedly left the project over "casting issues," with sources telling Nikki that Taylor's reps wanted to "put the best actors and directors around him." That's a big burn to the people behind "Northern Lights," if you ask us. The film is still said to be moving on without Taylor, so we'll see who they get to fill his (now hopefully cheaper) shoes. At least he is still the current highest paid young actor in Hollywood.
Also on Sunday, Lionsgate snagged the rights to "Abduction," which had been stuck in a bidding war for the past week. We snagged this news from the guys over at /Film, who label the project as "'Bourne' meets 'Hitchcock' for the 'Twilight' 'Disturbia' crowd." Rumor has it the film was sold for around $1 million. Considering it will apparently take more than seven times that much to sign on Taylor, we hope Lionsgate is saving their pennies.
