Late last night we spotted a story from /Film that seemed to suggest Daniel Radcliffe and Lily Rabe would be starring in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks' adaptation, "The Lucky One." All available evidence seemed to point in that direction, and we fully acknowledged the possibility.
That is until we heard some exclusive scoop from a source close to the project that had its reading yesterday. Our insider said the reading was for another film being produced that doesn't even have financing lined up yet.
"It's for another film called 'Nothing Else Like It On Earth'," our source said. "It's a really beautiful story."
Apparently none of the actors have been confirmed yet due to film being in an early state of production. Daniel and Lily were just doing the readings, and no casting decisions have been made. However, the little information that is known about the project is that it is about the building of the Brooklyn Bridge and that Sigourney Weaver and Nathan Lane also read for parts.
"But if they cast the line-up that was at the reading yesterday it will be quite the cast," our insider shared. "Lily Rabe played the role opposite [Daniel]. She did a pretty incredible job."
The leak all stemmed from a series of tweets producer Christine Vachon posted yesterday saying Daniel and Lily had done an amazing reading together and that she was headed to a Doug McGrath reading starring Daniel Radcliffe. Since Doug was just signed to direct "The Lucky One," the dots had seemed to connect themselves.
Who knows, maybe we'll be the lucky ones and have Daniel star in both? But the premise of "Nothing Else Like It On Earth" seems more in line with the serious acting Daniel has become known for wanting to take part in after the end of "Harry Potter."
