'Vampire Diaries' Star Paul Wesley Hints At A Reunion With Modern-Day Katherine This Season!

Oh, vampy seductress Katherine Pierce! How you have tortured the hearts of the Salvatore brothers for ages now! And, since you SPOILER ALERT! weren't in that dreadful tomb, it seems that you're out there somewhere and that means we all will probably meet your modern-day self sometime soon, right? Well, maybe. We asked Stefan Salvatore himself, Paul Wesley, to try to clarify when or even if we'll meet Katherine (played by Nina Dobrev) before the end of the first season of "Vampire Diaries."

"Maybe, maybe. I honestly don’t know," he teased to MTV News. "I think it'd be an interesting storyline. They revealed on the show that last she was seen she was living in Chicago."

OK, fine! So he doesn't know when we'll see her, but does he at least know what in the under world she might be doing in the year 2010? "I can only imagine. I think its interesting to think that she's such a powerful, influential, manipulative character and person," he explained. "And I can only imagine what she doing."

Being that Paul is so darn cute, we felt obliged to continue our probe for answers by asking if he had any deets regarding the Salvatore brothers' origin. For instance, how are they vamps if Katherine was captured presumably before they were turned? Yeah, he doesn't know either.

"You know what's funny somebody asked me that literally yesterday! I have asked [exec producer] Kevin Williamson about that and everything he tells me is so ambiguous because he doesn’t want to spill the beans for us," he said. "So he won't tell me the truth, and in reality, I'm dying to find out the origin. Every script that I read knocks my socks off because they always take turns that are so unexpected."
