Secure your slushies and have a seat, Gleeks. We have business to attend to. But before we discuss the first item on the agenda, I must issue this warning: If you are at all spoilerphobic, please leave the room. I'm serious now. We've got juicy dish to, well, dish. OK, we all set? Let's proceed.
Over the weekend, the cast and brains behind our favorite FOX musical series "Glee" attended the 27th Annual Paley Television Festival, and they spilled a lot of details, not only about the back half of the current season but about the second season as well, which begins shooting in July.
Now, in my mind, the most OMG! news from the event involves Jane Lynch and a certain makeout partner. Hint: It's not Mr. Schuester (obviously... right?). It is...drumroll please... guest star Neil Patrick Harris! That's right! Executive producer Ryan Murphy told E! Online, "[Neil] gets to tussle with Jane Lynch, and they might sleep together, but that's all I'm gonna say!" Ryan, that's ALL you need to say to completely blow my mind! Awesome!
People.com is also reporting details about NPH's appearance, including that he will duet with Mr. Schu on an Aerosmith number and a Billy Joel tune. Double awesome!
It also looks like Lea Michele might get her wish regarding a possible Justin Timberlake cameo. Ryan told E! Online that he's working on securing Queen Latifah, Hugh Jackman and J.T. for season two appearances.
"[Justin] is the one the kids jump up and down about every day and beg me to meet with him," Ryan said. "I'm a huge fan of his music. I think he's so talented. And he's a true triple threat: He can sing, dance, and act. So yeah, we'd love to have him on. We start shooting the second season in July and I think I will work some magic around that time for him if I can."
But before we get too ahead of ourselves, season one still has plenty to go gaga over. Literally. New Directions will be putting on their poker faces in a Lady Gaga tribute. A Steve Perry tribute is also planned for the finale.
And finally, from EW.com, we learned that season two will be jumbo-sized (25 episodes instead of 22) and that producers plan to aim for a “sweet feeling… like I loved it when 'The Brady Bunch' went to Hawaii. I want [New Directions] to go to some competition in New York,” Ryan said.
Consider this an open invitation to stop by the MTV offices while you're in the Big Apple, guys!
What do you think about all the great "Glee" spoilers? Excited for NPH to lock lips with Jane Lynch? A bigger, sweeter season two? Tell us what you think!
