With "The Runaways" due out in select theaters Friday, Kristen Stewart is making her rounds to promote the film. Today she stopped by "Live With Regis and Kelly" to talk a bit about her admiration for Joan Jett's rock star persona.
"She has such a distinct voice," Kristen said. "She is on fire. She stares the audience down. I've never seen anything like it and you don't know you can do it until you do it for the first time."
Kristen did get a chance to do it, take after take, as she starred as Joan in the rock star flick. However, she admitted that despite the fun she had filming the movie, she could never be a rock star in real life (unlike her "Twilight"costars Robert Pattinson and Jackson Rathbone).
"If I had that drive," Kristen started, before trailing off and adding, "[Joan] needs to make that sound. It could never be fun for me to be a rock star 'cause I'm not one."
She did tell Regis and Kelly that the two most exciting moments of her year were winning a fan-voted BAFTA award and presenting at the Oscars.
"It's a voted thing and the 'Twilight' fans are awesome to click and click and click. I prepared a little bit," Kristen said about the BAFTA win.
She added about the Oscars, "I felt a little funny 'cause typically you have a movie there, so I felt very much like a little kid on the stage. Everybody that was nominated in that category [at the BAFTAs], they're my favorite actors right now. It was cool. I would have been so happy to not have to say anything; jinxing was not my concern."
Kristen offered a recurring sentiment about how the "Twilight" films have changed her life, grouping "The Runaways" in as well. "It's amazing," she said. "The first time any of my movies have gotten any attention was 'Twilight' and now 'The Runaways' people are into that. It's awesome."
