The star aligned in Sin City this past week to strut their stuff at the ShoWest — the "largest annual convention for the motion picture industry." Of course, MTV News was there getting the inside scoop from all the A-listers present (Hudgens! Heigl! Worthington!), but before we roll out those interviews, take a stroll through photos from our special Spotted! ShoWest Edition!
No better way to build excitement for "Sex and the City 2" than by heaping some serious awards glory onto every girls' favorite posse. Sarah Jessica Parker (in Lanvin) carried herself all the way to Las Vegas with gal pals Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis (in Oscar de la Renta) to accept the "Ensemble of the Year" award at ShoWest. Too bad the gang was missing a noticeably absent Kim Cattrall, who was wowing theatergoers in London’s West End in "Private Lives."
Vanessa Hudgens (wearing All Saints on the right) and her not-so-beastly costar Alex Pettyfer picked up the Female and Male Star of Tomorrow awards at the 2010 ShoWest ceremony last night. "Beastly" looks better than most teen fantasy flicks so keep your eyes peeled for its release in July. The ambiguous teaser trailer provided little insight into the film, about a young man’s physical curse, but based on ShoWest’s praise of this duo moviegoers are in for a treat.
The good folks at ShoWest had some big love to share with Amanda Seyfried last night when they awarded her the "Breakthrough Female Star of the Year" award. In 2010, Amanda showed us she can handle everything from weepy girlfriend to daring prostitute roles, with turns in "Dear John" and "Chloe." She's definitely no longer confined to playing superficial space cadets ("Mean Girls" anyone?) as she continues to prove how far her range can go.
