With Naomi deeply entrenched in her role as gossip reporter for The Blaze, this week at West Bev seemed less eventful. That’s not to say there wasn’t a fair share of spying, stalking and auto theft, but drama isn’t quite the same without Naomi’s stick in the pot.
As we saw at the very end of last week, Dixon’s mom has reappeared from thin air, or Phoenix, with a hollow offer to stay “at the hotel down the road,” so of course, a virtual stranger with a history of feeding her son tacos for 89 days (yeah, I know, weird), is invited to stay. Mother and son struggle to get to know each other until over a plate of tortilla chips (again, weird, they were just plain chips, no cheese, no guac, no salsa, did anyone else notice this!?) at the local sports bar Mom says those three magical words that always make everything better: I Online Gamble. Dixon can’t get home fast enough to log onto bythebookie.com. It’s a shame his car was stolen because something tells me he could really use it in a few months to pay off some debts.
The mystery of Dixon’s stolen car haunted us all episode, just as Jasper haunted Annie. Poor Annie, she just wants to be a normal girl who can take out the trash and eat cupcakes without her creepy ex-boyfriend following her and reminding her she murdered someone. Can’t he forget it already? And then it all comes together, Jasper stole the car, of course! It was potential evidence and it needed to be destroyed. Annie, I beg of you, please get back on your laptop and confess already! The sooner you go to jail, the sooner you get out.
Navid has completed his suspension and in an effort to get over Adrianna, he decides he must go on a date with Lila from The Blaze. A twist of fate (We were dance partners when we were 10! You had your face reconstructed? Me too! No wonder we didn’t recognize each other!) and a bit of lame flirting is enough to get these two to first base just in time for Aid to come skipping down the beach to see.
Adrianna hyperventilates for one minute and then does what all girls getting over a boy do: tries out for an all-girl band. Gia, blinking away the hearts in her eyes, watches Aid sing like a proud mother … or lover. She lets it slip she has a crush on someone and is able to keep her own secret for about five hours before blurting out she is falling for Adrianna. (Who didn’t see that coming?) Let’s hope this info, coupled with the fact that Adrianna mistakenly joined a band with Navid’s new gf on bass, doesn’t drive her back to pills.
And finally, Teddy, who has girls literally emailing, texting, bumping into him, calling none stop (the kid is 17, he attends school, plays tennis, who has this kind of time?) throws Silver a fast one when she confesses she spied on him because she didn’t know if she could trust him and now he can’t trust her. Oh, how the tables have turned.
But seriously, next week, bring back Ivy! And Liam and Naomi!
What did you think of last nights episode: Is Dixon's future gambling problem a little too Brandon Walsh for your taste? Do you like Lila and Navid together? What about the idea of Gia and Adrianna?
