The end of "Ugly Betty" is near (only three new episodes left!) and as much as it's making us want to lock ourselves into the decadent hallways of Mode magazine so that we never have to say goodbye, we're starting to realize that the parting is inevitable.
Betty herself, America Ferrera, is too. "It was such a wonderful period of my life and that's going to take a little bit of time to digest," she told MTV News while promoting her new flick, the animated "How To Train Your Dragon." With only one week left on the set with Mark, Wilhelmina, Daniel and Co., America adds that she hasn't even had time to consider what's next. "Right now it's too much to think about even jumping straight into another thing that would be that long term."
For the most part, however, she says she is "staying open" to new possibilities for her career. "I could have never forseen 'Betty' coming around," she said of for the little show that would. "I think it's about being open to something coming around and unexpectedly inspiring me to jump in."
We have no doubt that we'll be seeing America's name in lights for years to come — after all she's one of the most gracious, charming, intelligent and grounded young adults in Hollywood right now (plus she was our girl crush this week!). Still, the actress insists she's in no rush to keep her name circling in casting departments ... at least at the moment. Of her upcoming schedule, she said, "I might sleep, I might relax — just sort of enjoy a little bit of time off before I jump into the next thing."
